Dear Eds or anyone who might have any other information. I heard a rumour that we are very interested in signing Mateo Musacchio of Valencia, and one of the eds from the Liverpool page said that we were very interested in him. Does anyone know if this is true or not because if this is true, then it not only shows that we still are ambitious ()because Musacchio is a quality defender) but it also shows that MoPo is committed to the saints as he is looking for quality signings. Hope this is true and I hope that someone may have inside knowledge.
I have seen rumours of Southampton, Liverpool and Barcelona being interested in him. After Barça's recent transfer ban the deal looks unlikely for them, while Liverpool currently have enough central defenders they could still be in for him. Overall there is a reasonable chance of us signing him.
Personally I'd prefer Samuel Umtiti of Olympique Lyon, he was outstanding against Juventus in their last match and I've been watching him for a while :)
Given that Liverpool have Skrtel, Agger and Sakho who would arguably all be ahead of him, surely we'd be in the box seat as we'd be more capable of offering regular first team football.
If Musacchio played for Liverpool he would definetly start, he's a quality player, really hope we sign him!
Surely he would walk into the side as skrtel is poor and agger and sahko are only a bit better
