I fear for us if this is true unless it's Dickson on the way out and we've two more CB's on the way in.
Sorry but Dann is a very good CB he had a poor season in a poor side. indivdually that dont make him a bad player. look at Heitinga for everton got a big money move to A.Madrid had a poor season everton brought him and he has never looked back. if thats the guy Adkins wants and belives in we should all get behind him.
Really worried about the signing of him, if we get him I'd want at least another signing of a Centre Back for back up.

I agree Dann is a great CB he was great with Birmingham along side Johnson and people who say "he's been relegated with two clubs" he was injured from January onwards when brum got relegated and Blackburn last season were a poor team with a poor inexperienced manager (i just hate steve keen but tbh he did better than i thought he would)

Jeremain Lens to Southampton appears to be a done deal, the fee is described to be a substantial undisclosed fee, (according to reports in Spain)
The hunt for Defenders continue, the enquiry made for Blackburn's Scott Dann appears to be coming to fruition.
Scott Dann = NOT leaving Blackburn. He's not going to St Mary's he's not a top flight player and Adkins is looking to Europe for new Defenders.
As for Lens I can see that happening he's a good player probably worth the money and would be happy at St Mary's. Not sure what reports in Spain has to do with a transfer from PSV (Holland) to Southampton (England).
Ive hunted the internet, and cant see anything about lens since 20th july.. can u say what sorse in spain says this ? and why are the spanish intrested in a player transfering from a dutch team to a english team ?

That's a major news story cause it has ramifications with the champs league though. That's why they cared about the PSG transfer. This is between clubs not involved in international tournaments.

Papers don't know whats happening cause rightfully so the Southampton management are acting behind closed doors to keep the destructive powers of the media at bay.

Southampton to have made two new signings on long term contracts within a week, thought to be a defender and a winger (with pace to spare). This could hint at the jermain lens rumour and i have no ideas who or where the defender may be or come from. Any ideas or realistic preferences?

Lens looks very likely, looks like possibly the defender will come from Holland if anywhere as well.

I've heard that Southampton FC have been looking at SC Heerenveen pair Oussama Assaidi and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw. Assaidi is a winger that was linked to Fulham earlier in the summer, and Gouweleeuw is a promising centre back. I'll find out more in the next couple of weeks. JonB
Assaidi may be back up for the Lens deal (suppose it's not impossible for it to happen anyway). As for Gouweleeuw he is just a very talented young lad. I'd love to see him at St Mary's he'd do well. I'd just hope as well we'll bag a centre back with a little more experience.

Heard in spain yesterday that Jermaine Lens is a done deal, he was high on the wanted list of real mallorca who are now looking else where
