According to an article on the tv website, Southampton are close to agreeing deals with two players and another 1 or 2 are not far behind.

One is Bradford striker Nahki Wells, who has been watched all season and impressed scouts. He is out of contract in the Summer having opted not to extend his deal with Bradford.

The other is Japanese international Keisuke Honda who's contract with CSKA Moscow expires in the Summer who is available at a knockdown 4m price as his contract ends at the end of the year and he has indicated that he has no intention of signing a new deal.

I wouldn't worry about Schneiderlin rumours, he recently signed a new contract and Cortese has zero intention of letting our star performers players leave and Schneiderlin is rated by those at the club as the best player in the team.

Ramirez OTOH, could well go back to Italy as the coaching staff and MP do not think he will ever adjust to the PL style. Fiorentina and Milan are interested, however Cortese will accept nothing less than what we paid for him.

Astori deal is still on, the player agreed to stay at Cagliari until the summer under the condition he was allowed to leave at the end of the season and he is keen to play in the Premier League.

In addition to, who will cost around £8m, Wells (Seen as one for the future) & Honda, expect big money to be spent on another CM, another Winger and a CF. Also expect cover to be brought in at RB/Lb & GK.

40m budget plus whatever we get from sales for Pochettino.

As for the outs, you can say goodbye to the likes of

Fox (Reading)
De Ridder (Genk)
Richardson
Sharp (will go to Forest permanently if they can get in and win the play-offs)
Hammond (Several Championship clubs want him)
Lee (permanent deal with FC Tokyo almost finalised)
Chaplow
Gazzaniga (Pochettino really doesn't rate him)
Martin (Coventry)
Seaborne (Bournemouth)
Forecast (Jobcentre Plus, j/k)

Wouldnt mind honda, he's been bossing the russian league for the seasons he's played

Agree11 Disagree7

None of this will happen, and schneiderlin will be going to Arsenal to further his career, as he realises he has no chance of european football with Southampton

Agree3 Disagree39

Schneiderlin has stated he is happy with Southampton and signed a contract about a month ago until 2017. Obviously an Arsenal fan. Produce your own players.

Agree24 Disagree4

See we have pompey fans continually on the Saints page trying to say every player is leaving. As for the original rumour Honda maybe but Wells is definitely not coming being lined up by some Championship teams

Agree6 Disagree4

Schneiderlin doesn't want to go anywhere and Cortese is not willing to sell him at all, plus with a contract running to 2017 he has no need to.

Wells is not likely to happen, performing at too low of a level for us to take a punt on him.

Honda and Astori seem to be fairly solid rumours but expect a lot of business in the summer.

Agree8 Disagree3

Agree with most of that post although most of it is guess work, Disagree with Gazzaniga going though. He will come good IMO and Pochettino hasn't said he doesn't rate any player so how would you know!

Agree3 Disagree3

"None of this will happen, and schneiderlin will be going to Arsenal to further his career, as he realises he has no chance of european football with Southampton" go away skate, stop your bitter jealousy and enjoy league 2. Makes laugh everytime. League 2 HA. HA!
Anyway back to saints, schneiderlin is not going anywhere, I always told my mates that he would be brilliant. They didn't believe me! He has just extended his contract and Cortese wants champions league football, so why would he sell the best mid in the prem to Arsenal (who wins nothing anyway, so wouldn't be furthering his career at all, a team like man united on the other hand. Fair enough), also the price would be way to high for what Arsenal would be willing to pay! On to all the players being linked to Saints, who knows? Only MP and NC that's who! We will only know about players signing when they have been announced on the offical saints site, until then let's keep guessing, that why I am on here! Up the Saints! COYR! One more thing, league 2 HA!

Saints are tracking Tunisian midfielder Mejdi Traoui.

At 29 years old, he's not the sort of player I thought would be linked to us.

Can't see that happening, we have better and Pochettino will be looking to seriously improve what we already have.

Agree7 Disagree1

I think the papers were looking for a link, and as we have Radhi Jaidi down there setting up our African PR machine, Saints were a logical club to pick. If we bring in any Tunisian players through the new outreach, they will be academy-age youngsters, I would think.

scott sinclair either on loan or permanent source in west country where he originated as his brother is here already and able to peruade him! maybe wages could be a factor but I can see this maybe helping as great support for Jay-rod and Lambo.

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Think City want him off their books so can't see a loan happening. Realistic signing for Saints and could be worth a punt.

Agree8 Disagree1

Another post states that City are looking for £7m for him.

Agree5 Disagree1

City will be lucky to take £7million for a player who they don't play, if they don't need him I sense they would sell for far less.

Agree4 Disagree1

Don't think they will sell for far less at all, a few clubs will want him for 7 mill.

Agree1 Disagree3

Apart from that bloke from Spurs, has the current regime brought anyone in on loan?

Agree2 Disagree0

Is it just me who sees him as worth less than 7million? I mean we could probably do a lot better for 7 million and City aren't too desperate to keep him.

Agree2 Disagree0

City only payed £6.2m! Why would we be paying 7?!

Agree3 Disagree0

Because he only had 1 year left on his contract when they got him

Agree0 Disagree2

Swear city spent 12m on him and we'd pay less than what they speant on him

Agree0 Disagree0

Hoovield started off with us as a loan from Celtic if I remember correctly. Quickly made permanent because he was a revelation for us in the championship.
Shame he has had a rough season, I really thought it would be Fonte out of the two who couldn't cut it in the prem.
