Everyone's going on about transfer but no ones relised that WANYAMA has a hairline fracture in his leg so we NEED TO BUY IN JANUARY COYR

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Out for 8 weeks, hardy a reason to panic buy is it?

Agree11 Disagree4

According to reports, we are apparently looking at Yann M'vila as an option for the CDM role. personally I think that he is better than Wanyama (especially at passing) so this could be a good transfer to make in January but what do you guys think? Do we need to go out and but a CDM or use what we have got (Cork, S. Davis etc. )?

Agree3 Disagree4

Rennes only let go of M'Vila because they couldn't manage him, he acted like Balotelli at Manchester City. He's a good player but he'd bring a lot of trouble and we don't need him. Wanyama will come back soon. Plus we have a great Youth System that Poch has revealed to be in his plans for the next game.

Agree4 Disagree2

I think Wanyama has really come into his own in the last few games, his passing was lacking at the start but he has been wonderful in the last few games. He held off loads of attacks from Arsenal and Chelsea. Show more respect for him!

Agree15 Disagree3

We lost to both Arsenal and Chelsea

Agree3 Disagree12

W don't really need a cdm like mvilla we ned a cb wh is young nd experianced a gk maybe and eithier a winger or even a all striker as personally I think rickies loosing it?

Agree2 Disagree2

No we need to strengthen in a number of areas like GK were using 3rd choice and we're lacking in depth in a certain amount of positions

Agree4 Disagree0

I think there is an issue at CDM because we have two Jack and Vic, and I don't think Jack is anywhere near Vic's standard in that position.

It is becoming obvious that MoPo only views Jack as a CDM and in that roll there are a lot of better players out there, sad to say it but jack should change club or change position, possibly to right back and give Clyne a run for his money.

MoPo dosen't view him as an attacking midfielder and I guess the fact that he has never scored a goal for Saints backs that up.

I like Corky but this situation is no good for him or Saints.

Agree3 Disagree11

"In January 2010, M’Vila is said to have attacked a restaurant owner following a bout of road rage, while he was in court just two months ago, to see a pair of prostitutes jailed for robbing him and a friend, after they were invited back to a hotel room before a match".
'M'Vila also missed the 3-1 victory of Ajaccio after punching a 17 year old'.
Not for Saints.

Agree5 Disagree0

At the age of 22 M'Vila had 22 caps for France, he didn't go off the rails he was never on them. Grew up in a gang culture of crime and theft.

It was hard knocks. “Some teachers were afraid to come to school, Leaving the banlieue and your past behind is easier said than done. “It’s true that with fame you get new friends, new cousins… You need to be really careful, ” M’Vila admitted. “Sometimes I’ve been a little too naive… Sometimes I’m just a kid who is living his life. ”

Got robbed by two hookers AFTER the match including his 13k watch.
Punched a 17year old in his own home for betraying him.
People who knew him said it was all too much too soon
He is changing and growing up and some day someone will get a great player on their hands. He will also be playing for France again soon which could help Morgan so
don't write the kid off, and MoPo likes bad boys anyway.

Agree5 Disagree1

Cork has scored for Saints, check your facts. He did pretty well today, very well in fact and last season and the season before. Remember players do what the manager tells them to, Cork always had to stand on the half way line at corners last season. Yes I agree MoPo obviously sees the big lad in front of him so yes if I were Cork I'd probably consider offers should Cortese accept one. That'll be Saints loss, IMO he's a better footballer than Wanyama will ever be. Vic isn't a footballer for me, he's a very big, strong, crude implement and if that's what Poch wants so be it, but Corky can pass long or short. He can play different positions. He never moans. He's happy to receive the ball under pressure and doesn't panic, and to say he hasn't had a lookin all season till now what a pro.
Some Saints fans have ridiculously short memories.
Good Luck Corky, lots of teams would love a pro like you.

Saint Real

Agree13 Disagree0

Cork showed today why he is a key part of the team. I think panic buying in our strongest position is pure madness. We have 4 very good Central/Defensive Midfielders in Cork, Davis, Wanyama and Schneiderlin with Reed on his way up from our youth system.

The places to strengthen are obvious; get in a keeper to provide more cover for the increasingly injury worried Kelvin Davis (Love the guy but he is struggling a bit now), a new Centre back so we can offload deadweight Hooiveld and give Fonte a real challenge for his spot (always good to have players chasing for spots in the first 11) and finally we could go for a new wide player who can cut in to provide competition for Lallana and Ward-Prowse other than Ramirez but in all honesty that is not a huge need at this point in time.

Agree5 Disagree1

Thought Corky did well against Man City too but can't remember Cork ever scoring a goal for us, tried to check my facts and they all say 0 goals. Could be wrong though.

Agree1 Disagree2

Jack Cork has scored for Saints, but only when he was here on loan. Since we signed him on a permanent basis, Jack has unfortunately not managed to hit the net.

Agree1 Disagree2

I would just point out, scoring goals is not the only sign of how good a player is. Think about the amount of goals Cork has prevented and been a large part in setting up. He's a great player, nothing flashy but the sort of solid guy you want in the centre of the park.

Agree8 Disagree1

I think Matt Smith would be good from Leeds as a replacement for Rickie if needs be.

Agree6 Disagree9

"Jack Cork sat in front of the back four and played with quite stunning maturity. In a midfield featuring the likes of Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri, it took something special to stand out. Yet Cork performed with cool intelligence; a straight-backed, discerning, elegant player who has only to improve at his present rate to become something quite exceptional"
Patrick Collins writing in today's Mail on Sunday

Agree12 Disagree1

Jack Cork proved today that he is our best central midfielder. People can big up Schniederlin as much as they want, but I have never seen him boss top class opponents like Cork did today. He reminds me of Owen Hargreaves and I believe if he getd a regular start for us, he will be knocking on England's door soon.

Agree6 Disagree2

Cork was excellent on Saturday, first start of the season against title contenders and he and davis controlled the midfield for most of the game.

City's skipper confirmed this after the match and he could not near corky during the game. I do not understand some of fans who say jack cork is not good enough they should get to specsavers he is a fine player look forward to seeing him get more games

Agree9 Disagree0

I hope that Corky impresses MoPo now he has his chance and gets rotated with Wanyama when everyone is fit. That way I think he will have a strong future at Saints.

Agree5 Disagree0

There is no reason why Steven Davis and Jack Cork can't look forward to starting against Newcastle. Regardless of Morgan and Wanyama being fit or not. Cork was outstanding against City, as was Davis. Who imo was our best player against Villa.

Agree3 Disagree0

I kind of agree with the above poster regarding Cork and Davis starting on Saturday. They played very well, and have earned their place. Equally, this would allow more time for the injured players to recuperate. There is no need to rush Morgan back, and Wanyama will obviously be out for a while longer.

By the same measure Chambers should also start. Thought he had a cracking game against City. I really rate Chambers and think that he'll go on to be better than Clyne.

Agree6 Disagree1

Just reading the post above and more people disagree we lost to arsenal and Chelsea than agree. What?
Come on guys we did lose those games, that's a fact, other stuff is opinion but for heavens sake

Agree2 Disagree6

I think Clyne should still be a starter because his pace is really helpful on the right side, Chambers however is growing into a more complete player than Clyne but for now Clyne would be stronger against Newcastle.

Agree1 Disagree1

I'd rather have a 100% fit Chambers than a 75-80% fit Clyne.

Agree3 Disagree0

How old is clyne? england u 21 and upto the injury a member of the best back four in terms of not conceding goals in the prem.

Chambers is 18 and a very good footballer but to talk about him being better than clyne is not worthy of what mp is building and how well our squad is playing this season. Support the team.

Agree4 Disagree0

I wouldn't drop Chambers after his performance against City. I'd start him and then maybe sub him off for Clyne if we feel we are lacking some attacking strength along the right wing.

Agree1 Disagree1

Cork has shown over the last two games that he can break the play up and distribute the ball much better then Wanyama, to me we've been ripped off at £12M he was a star in a league no better then the Championship!

Agree7 Disagree5

Yep, couldn't agree more

England keeper Alex McCarthy is on his way to Southampton for £4m plus Billy Sharp (£800k) and Danny Fox (£500k)

Reading were offered more, thought to be around £6m, but Adkins wants to keep Sharp and wanted Fox in the summer. Good for them, great for us!

Believable3 Unbelievable4

In which case we'd need to bring another Left back into the senior team setup as Luke will be the only natural player in that position. Probably Targett?

Heard we want to buy Kasper Scmeichel and Steven Caulker Scmeichel has Premier League expierenece and Caulker might want to leave the sinking ship that is Cardiff

Believable1 Unbelievable6

We had scouts watching Reading last weekend - presumably watching their keeper - Alex MacCarthy.

Agree3 Disagree0

To be honest wouldn't mind Mccarthy and Scmeichel get rid of Davis reitres and Boruc sold

Agree0 Disagree15

Why sell boruc? if we're going to get rid of him atleast get someone better and that isn't Schmeichel or mccarthy

Agree11 Disagree0

Let's just get Thibaut Courtois or Marc-André ter Stegen and have done with it :-)

Agree9 Disagree0

Schmeichel is no where near Boruc standard, but wouldn't mind McCarthy. Don't agree with the sinking ship statement about Cardiff, even with the latest saga. In my opinion they have the best squad and funding of the three to be promoted and are not going down. Caulker would not leave after only 6 months as he needs to cement his place in a side in order to improve

Agree2 Disagree1

No mat ekeep boruc and maybe get a replacemnt next year and atm I would like us to get thpsv keepeyoung duh and good?

Agree0 Disagree0

Boruc is mint who would want to get rid of him?

Agree6 Disagree0

Boruc is better than Schmeichel, McCarthy would be the one to sign to provide a challenge for Boruc and then we can let Davis retire without keeper worries. (Hopefully he'd move into a coaching role with the young players though as it seems they really look up to him as a player).

Think the best squad of the three that got promoted last season is Hull City actually, great bunch of players. They did very well in the summer getting Livermore and Huddlestone for an absolute steal and good work in the goalkeeper department too.

Agree4 Disagree0

What are people on about Boruc is a top keeper!

Anyone heard more on Kouyaté rumours?
