ed lots of rumours of shawcross do you know anything or how likely it would be to happen ? {Ed007's Note - I really can't see Shawcross joining Southampton.}

Believable10 Unbelievable20

Shawcross has been Stoke's Captain for the last 2-3 seasons... Why would they want to let him go? Surely they want to keep future England prospects

Agree10 Disagree3

If im honest with you, and i would like this to be posted ed - chris {Ed003's Note - Well if what you are saying is true you can expect a long ban if you do it again, your ip address has been noted

Agree4 Disagree3

I cant see this happenin, Dan maybe is a more realistic target, but I know id like to see Olsson at St. Marys and back in the prem.

Lol, what did he say ed ? {Ed003's Note - If people want to deliberately spread bs they are not welcome,we are too busy for that and it also lowers the standard of the site,I get rumours are hearsay,to be honest I would have put the op on dodgy,and to the chap telling me what I can or can't do on a post I deleted,goodbye for a short while}

People passing a rumour around saying that once the geoff cameron deal at stoke is complete then shawcross may be on his way to us, to be done late this week or early next week.

I would love this to happen as he is a strong young CB with prem experience and no doubt a future england international; you would also have to compare this to the dann rumour, i would say that shawcroos is worth more than dann but blackburn have a high asking price therefore 6mil for dann or shawcross. i know where i would spend my money. Though i can see this being very unlikely.

furthermore apparently rumours of new investors from the far east hence why cortese is abroad.

Well, "Agent Saint", I should stick with Everton, who seem to think they can buy anyone, without money. We are familiar with such nonsense from down the road!

And while you are at it, how about coughing up with some money for Naismith?

For the real Saints supporters, I suspect we have some kids from other clubs posting on our site, so be on the look out!

Whats this about new investers does anyone know more

Agree0 Disagree6

No idea, but i i heard thats why cortese is away on a break. Talking to possibly investors, which doesnt mean leibherrs would go, just sell of some of there shares to another party.

Agree0 Disagree1

Hope not. That's when things get ugly.

Yer that aint good when 2 people got the say on what happens we should stick wiv just one owner

I wonder if Saints are taking time on some transfers as they are waiting for interest from big clubs to disappear. For instance some reports that Wigan have quoted 8.5m to Chelsea for victor Moses yet the European champions have been stalling all summer. It is possible that Nc and Na are waiting to get the players at the top of their list rather than rushing into bringing in players further down it just to play in time for the big KO. An 8.5m bid for Moses would really back up the claims of pursuing quality and a mid table finish.

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Weve not signed anyone yet cause all players are waitin fo best offers from bigger clubs.we will have to wait in line for players that are left.

Ryan shawcross will be coming to saints all that needs to be done is the finalising of geoff cameron to stoke. should be done at the end of this week. coyr!!!

Believable5 Unbelievable14

I don't see him joining Saints, he is a class above an a much bigger club would buy him if they found out he was available to us.

Agree4 Disagree3

Man utd have first option have they rejected?

Agree4 Disagree1

Not going to happen. If he does leave leave Stoke it will sadly be to a 'bigger' team than us.

Agree2 Disagree1

I doubt that, I reckon he'd be happy at St Mary's especially with the Cortese plan.

Agree1 Disagree4

Southampton will be a bigger club than they are now when they establish themselves in the EPL, they have a great youth policy, remember Shearer etc, o ye of little faith.

Unconfrimed -But i have also heard again today that we are in talks again with Birmingham over Butland

Also heard from a Blackburn source that we have offered 4m + player for Dann

Also strong rumours regarding a signing tomorrow

Ed: Do you have anything?

Chalkie

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Love to see butland come in as he was class at the olympics. Doubt birmingham would want to let him go after those displays though.

Agree4 Disagree3

Really, went to Cardiff, he was horrendous. Poor in the air, worst kicker i have seen for a while and shot stopping was average. Would much rather by Steele.

Agree4 Disagree4

Butland wasn't that great at the Olympics, I know this comment will get a lot of disagree's but really I think Gazzaniga has shown himself to be at least as good as Butland. Butland has made considerable errors at the Olympics and he seems to be worse in reaction time than Gazzaniga which is much harder to train. As for Dann I strongly doubt that.

Agree6 Disagree5

He is still only 19 and has much to learn, even cassias, hart, buffon wasnt a finished player at 19. so for his age, he shows great potential for the future. mark my words, he will be one of the best keepers in the next 7 years - chris

Agree4 Disagree1

My point is that Gazzaniga is about as young and I think has shown more potential than Butland (I'll get a lot of disagrees I know) but Gazzaniga is a very good keeper, seems to have more natural talent and has a high threshold to learn more.

Agree7 Disagree4

He would probably get rid of those mistakes from his game with guidance of kelvin?

Dean Hammond has handed in a transfer request and looks set to leave St Mary's after calls for him to lose the captaincy and the fact he feels he won't get many games. He will probably be sold to a championship/league 1 side. Personally I wish him the best in his future endeavours. He's been great for us for the past few seasons and I hope he gets first team football at his next club.

Believable11 Unbelievable11

Hope this is true, never rated him at all, lazy n no good passing

Agree2 Disagree11

Dean hammond has NOT handed in a transfer request. why would you come up with such crap ? and if your are right, where is your name ? there is nothing anywhere, and only the other day he was saying how much he was looking forward to starting the season in his 1st ever season in the premiership. - chris

Agree9 Disagree2

Dont want him to leave, hes a good player and he played excellently in pre-season especially against Wolves, anyway whats your Source ?

SaintlySpud25

Agree6 Disagree3

Can't believe it will be accepted as it would appear that in terms of future transfers for us Nigel has stopped making plans (geddit). so in conclusion and to quote Secret Agent and UK tax payer Harry Redknapp "we are down to the bare bones"

Agree0 Disagree1

'Lazy'? You must watch a different Hammond to me! I'll be very surprised if this is true. Deserves his chance, I've always rated him.

Agree3 Disagree0

I like Hammond, but with Cork, Davis, Schneiderlin and with Ward-Prowse coming through i don't see Hammond as any more than a back up.

Agree7 Disagree1

Hammond is a good Midfielder but he's not top flight good. I really hope he gets a good new club though.

Agree3 Disagree0

Hammond is absolutely not lazy. If is the hardest trainer and works tirelessly on the field. However I don't believe if has the pace or stand-out ability to cope in the Prem. A decent Championship player I'd say. We have jumped 2 divisions in 2 years. It is harsh but we must evolve the squad to stay up. I wish Deano all the very best.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hammond is not good enough for the premiership and was not good enough for the championship. Great servant but unfortunately if the club wants to evolve then we have to be a bit more ruthless. Davis, Cork, Ward-Prowse and Morgan we have 4 reasonable centre midfielders all better than dean

Agree1 Disagree1

As Hammond is our Captain he will be played and come on give him a chance! Everyone said Lambert wouldn't cut it in the championship and look how he did, he has worked hard to get us there so deserves a chance and lazy? Have you ever seen him play?
