Legia Warsaw played an ineligible player in the Celtic game. They could get knocked out as it is being investigated by UEFA. Would that stop Forster and VVD?

Believable8 Unbelievable1

If the deal with Forster is truly based on his participation in the champions league then this is a huge worry. Should the allegations prove true, celtic will replace Legia in the champions league thus affecting the Forster deal. Van Dijk has yet to be approached by the club unlike Forster so a deal could possibly still be made.

God I hope so

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes Forsters representatives have advised him not to sign yet and see what happens although I do believe he is not that bothered with the champions league with Celtic anyway knowing that they won't get much further

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't see it as a bad thing considering a polish side made them both like they play for league 2.how will they compare in the premier league.?

Agree6 Disagree0

08 Aug 2014 00:14:04
Very much agreed. On the same topic, they brought the guy on in the 86th minute of the second leg where Celtic were 6-1 down on aggregate. Did it really make any difference at all?

Agree5 Disagree0

Just read that celtic aren't happy with our second bid either. expected to be around 7m. I say leave it, a lot of money for a GK. Arsenal signed Colombian GK David Ospina for 3m. surely there are better GK and deals out there.

Agree5 Disagree2

New goalkeeper should not be a priority at the moment, centre back and up front are areas in the squad where we are weakest at the moment

Agree8 Disagree3

08 Aug 2014 08:59:48
The player only played about three mins in the second game so Celtic shouldn't get put through!

Agree1 Disagree1

08 Aug 2014 09:03:46
Happened before and the team got a 15K Euro fine. Legia won't be knocked out. Don't know how I feel about these signings, would be good to have more cover in both positions though.

Agree1 Disagree4

The BBC have mentioned in their article that in 2010 a similar situation happened in which the winning team fielded an ineligible player in the dying minutes of an easily won game and they were only fined as it could not have changed the result of the game. I don't think Celtic will get away with this one.

Agree2 Disagree2

Celtic re-instated to Champions League.

Agree2 Disagree1

Celtic reinstated. No consistency there after reading the BBC article. That's absolutely shameful.

Agree4 Disagree1

It is not finished yet Legia Warsaw will appeal the decision

I see biabany is being mentioned in relation to us again. Apparently we are in a three way battle to get him
Thoughts?

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Yes I saw this, he looks like a great player and got a decent fifa rating to, for the price of 6M I think he would do perfect

Agree4 Disagree1

Would be a fantastic buy. MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Agree4 Disagree1

Bags of pace no end product.

Agree3 Disagree1

There's a few players being linked to us now, I like the sound of most of them but it's beginning to feel like the media turning their attention to players coming in as players seem to have stopped leaving. I wonder how much truth is actually in a lot of them, but if it is true, then yes, would be a good signing. But what happened to the Hernandez rumour? A lot of smoke and mirrors I fear. It's about time we got some ink on some paper!

Agree4 Disagree0

If hernandez signs I will rid my body of hair and wear a dress to the following match.

Has anybody actually seen this guy play? Everyone seems to be raving about him from highlight reels and fifa ratings. I Enjoy watching the Italian league and seen him play once or twice but didn't strike me as being too special. Thought his head didn't work quite as fast as he did and I worry how successful he would be in the fast pace of the premier league. Could be a hidden gem with his pace and pretty decent pass completion rate but am a little skeptical. Look how well Lamela settled into the premier league. Opinions from anyone who's seen more of him.?

Agree2 Disagree0

As I said earlier in the feed doesn't have much to his game other than pace imo.

Agree0 Disagree0

But that is somethin we are massively lacking

German centre back Phillipp wollscheid is linked with a move to saints, he is 25 and been capped twice

Seems like a good choice. I would be curious to see if he does go for the reported £5.5m though. He was bought for £4m from Nuremberg and has 3 years left on his current 5-year deal. That would make him quite a coup.

Agree2 Disagree2

And we get to see him tommorow.

Agree3 Disagree5

07 Aug 2014 16:25:55
Lol saintgibbs. You seem quite sure there

Agree1 Disagree3

We get to see him tomorrow because he plays for leverkusen not because we will have signed him.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Aug 2014 19:05:25
Because he plays for Bayer Leverkeusen.

Agree2 Disagree0

Correct jim. unfortunately for me I thought it was friday today.

Hmm. Realised after I had posted it and gave myself a facepalm for my own stupidity. Especially as it was mentioned in the post immediately below.

We are also interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen Defender Philipp Wollscheid. He reportedly has an offer from an us and would cost around £5 million. He is very keen to play in the Premier league. What would you guys make of this?

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Would be a decent signing. big strong cb, well disciplined, occasional goal from a corner. only issue is pace
reminds me a bit of metersacker

Agree5 Disagree2

Great defender!

A strong tackler with a powerful header, he's a little slow and has been clumsey but I would say he is as good as Lovren was in his last year at Lyon.

Agree5 Disagree2

Billy Sharp i'm guessing. Samrich, I believe he should stay for 1 year to try and prove himself in the prem. Possibly the nicest player ever though (with Lambert)

Agree1 Disagree0

Sharp.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Aug 2014 13:25:46
Apparently Billy Sharp is in advanced talks with Leeds United - Deal looking like it'll happen, although not in time for their opening game this weekend.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

07 Aug 2014 14:09:19
Good luck to the lad. Hope it works out for him

Agree6 Disagree0

I know Sharp is probably not good enough for the premier but I would of loved to have seen in have a go. Oh well wish you all the best billy boy!

We really need another decent striker!

Agree7 Disagree1

Yes good luck Billy Sharp, very genuine trier hope it works out for you. don't give up on the premier ship!

Agree3 Disagree0

He said on twitter earlier that he wished someone let him know about these supposed transfers. Either it's rubbish or a double bluff

Agree1 Disagree0

Sharpy scored twice for U21. Congrats, but the fact he is playing there and not in the squad today at Saint Mary's surely means he is on his way! Shame, I would loved to see him play a few prem games, but I wish him all the best. Good luck Sharpy!

According to reports in Portugal, Southampton will find out today if their bid of £15 million will be accepted for Rojo. COYR!

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Ik! I just read it and wondered if it was true or not. Surely it will get accepted?

Agree4 Disagree2

07 Aug 2014 13:55:10
Depends on Doyen Sports investment company, as they apparently own 75% of Rojo's contract. With him rumoured to be targets for Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea it may be the case Doyen Sports hold out for them to come in, in which case we should say that is our last offer, take it now or don't expect us to come back.

Agree4 Disagree1

07 Aug 2014 14:10:50
A lot of it depends on what's happening with him being touted by his reps. They are obviously trying to push him to bigger clubs. I do hope we get him but it will be interesting to see if any other club want him

Agree3 Disagree1

This is one guy worth paying good money for. He was tenacious and got forward well in the World Cup. Also, he can play in several positions so he is versatile too

Agree4 Disagree1

This is where being a good negotiator comes in, not convinced we have one of those.

Agree3 Disagree2

All very well but we have not bid anywhere near £15m. £9.5m is closer (12m eur)

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2014 09:04:24
Heard that crouch is available for around 3m.
We could do a lot worse for that sort of money as a 3rd/4th choice striker or even a last 15 minutes game changer.
Not saying he would be a starter, just saying for that sort of cash, even at his age I think this would give more added depth up front.
Some will say it doesn't show ambition because he's not in his low twenties and costing 15m
I would say he is a proven PL goalscorer and has the ability to change games in the final 15 mins if needed.

I would rather take Defoe on loan for 6 months.

07 Aug 2014 09:41:44
I think his £90k a week wages may be a stumbling point!

Agree10 Disagree4

Yes very true super sub for sure look at Chelsea with drogba. I believe you need experience and depth at any club. Crouch would be good purchase

Agree6 Disagree6

90 grand a week hahaha

Agree5 Disagree1

Need to see the robot once more! Lol

Agree5 Disagree4

So saints fans want to sign former players? interesting.
: (

Agree2 Disagree6

Former pompey players

Agree3 Disagree6

Is there anything wrong with that? There are definitely 3 other former saints players that every sensible Saints fan would love to have back.
Bale, Ox and Walcott!
The fact Crouch is a former player should have nothing to do with it. Every signing should be for footballing reasons and those alone.

Agree7 Disagree1

07 Aug 2014 15:22:19
Immature response! Moan about not having enough depth yet would fit the bill perfect (and to mentor the younger). Unfortunately, wasn't a rumor merely an observation!

Agree4 Disagree1

No thanks, we have back up strikers already, we need a 25 goal a season striker, not an impact bench striker. We need to replace the players we sold, lambo was a starter, we have gallagher as a bench striker and moving forward a starter.

Agree1 Disagree3

07 Aug 2014 08:13:37
Southampton have put the breaks on signing Ezequiel Schelotto! thank god for that as he does not look like a good player and even inter fans say he is rubbish!

07 Aug 2014 02:13:00
Wellington silva deal back on! get in, just what we need! Great signing

Believable3 Unbelievable10

Would love this yo be true. can't find any information on it tho.?!?

Agree3 Disagree1

07 Aug 2014 09:47:19
Is it? Where did you get this from? I can't find it anywhere

Agree3 Disagree1

He has already gone on loan for the season so this is just false
