Good young player. Would doubt it though he is a natural right back and we have good cover in that position. Why replace Chamber or Clyne who are in my eyes two of the best English right backs in the league.

Is this the lad that came off the bench v belgium with bags of pace but no intention of defending?

I'd love this to be true the kid has Great Ability. He can play RD or LB I believe.

Saints fan here living in Washington State so I follow the Sounders. Yedlin is a great player who has a big future ahead of him. As far as I am aware the only interest and inquiry made outside of the MLS is from Roma but Sounders are not looking to sale.

Tbh I don't think pelle would be such a good buy. He's 28 and 10m is a bit too much for him, even though he was good for feyeenoord these past seasons. Would rather have someone like ings for that sort of money.

Don think he would be a bad buy but the reson he didn't train was a slight ankle injury but heard benteke was on the short list

I think we need 3 strikers personally. One to replace Lambert, One to Replace Osvaldo ( who will leave) One to replace rodriguez as he is injured. We can't rely on gallagher, ramirez, mayuka and sharp, the young boy isn't quite ready and the other 3 aren't good enough to get the amount of goals we need to finish top half

Personally I think we should Sign Pele and ings if Possible both would be great assets for our Squad.

wish people would stop saying ings will be a good signing . he had one good season in the championship. he wouldn't hit 5 goals in the league next season .
not prolific enough , rather sign rhodes or hernandez

@ 10m he would be an awesome target man, worried that saints might start playing long ball to him though.

I would think Ronald Koemans as his manager for the past 3 / 4 years would know best if he is worth it - in Ron we trust.

Pelle will end up here I expect. hardball is being played from both sides for the price but did his agent not say pelle was keen on the move?? he should just throw his toys outta the pram or even better yet drive himself to staplewood carpark. lukaku will not sign for saints. wages, fees and clubs like athletico want him.

I would hate for Pelle to act as immaturely as some of our players have just in order to join us. Frankly it's disrespectful and we want good characters at Southampton as well as good players.

Whilst I understand the thought about Ings, didn't they say that Rickie Lambert from League 1 to Championship, then from Championship to Premier League?

The Pelle deal seems to have hit a snag regarding the fee and we are currently looking at other options deal not dead but also not close either

I agree SotonBoy, Look how well Jay Rod has done after "One good season in the Championship". If we want English talent Ings is exactly the type of player we should be looking at. Young adaptable and a proven goalscorer in English leagues.

We were after Benteke this time last year and got quite close - until he signed an improved extension at Villa I hear.

It took J-rod a season to settle in though. I'd expect the same from Ings. If we get him we'll still need a couple of good strikers for the season as first team regulars.

J-Rod had 2 decent seasons in the championship would've been 3 if it wasn't for a broken ankle and it took him a season to finf his feet in the prem

Although we are interested in Ings you have to wonder if he would be better staying at burnley so he has a year in the prem before signing in a year. As for pelle I think saints would prefer a younger and better prospect but with the options running are likely to sign him.

Heard a rumour that Saints are looking closely at Andy Delort from Tours who could be bought for approximately £5m. From what I've seen of the lad, which admitedly isn't much, I think he's a great prospect at a reasonable price, and perhaps having another Frenchman in the fold would encourage Morgan to stay

Plays with a lot of heart! Lots of pace and very good on the ball! Think he's got a big future hope it's with us!

I have to be honest I don't know anything about this player but the fact that Leicester might be in for him does that not tell you something?? Is it just me thinking we should and can attract a more high profile player?

Even if it was only one signing and the rest were relatively unknown it would go along way for us to bring in a half decent name like Benteke?
