any new news of players coming into saints in january been abit quiet at the moment, eds?or anybody got anthing?

Well pochettino said that we would not buy anyone in the January transfer window in favor of our youth academy products, but, with our lack of squad depth, I really think we need to buy a few people. They don't have to be expensive, just players good enough for squad rotation and even upcoming English players.

I think MoPo will use squad rotation in the future if Europe is the aim (he is not stupid), but he needs to replace people with equal quality, and at the moment he does not have that option.

I also don't think that if he buys anyone that they need to be English, as our last three four or five signings have all been foreign.

Jack Wiltshire tweeted after the game that Saints will end up in the top six this season. Well if we do we need a better squad than we have right now to compete in Europe. I suspect a mixture of new signings and youth academy graduates will be required, its not one OR the other, it's both. Just as we have been doing up till now.

Plus MoPo said we do not need to sign anyone, he did not say we will not sign anyone, big difference.

All I hope is that we don't try to bring in another player from Italy, strangely it looks like success in Italy is hard to replicate in the BPL.

There must be some but I can't think of any top Italian players in the BPL right now apart from Osvaldo (yes he plays for Italy).
Guly and Gaston also came to us from doing well in Italy, I'm sure the Don is not blind to this situation any more even with his stong links to that country.
