Ed002, With Moyes being sacked do you think that their new manger will be as keen on SHaw as Moyes was?

big Lal

{Ed002's Note - It is deeper than the manager. Shaw is young and British (unlike me but rather like Ed003). Soton has set a price on Shaw that Chelsea walked away from in January. He won't go cheap in the summer.

1.) 23 Apr 2014
According to the Gaurdian, Man U have 'virtually' completed the £30m signing of Luke Shaw on a 5 year deal and paying him £100,000 a week! Jeez! When Chelsea were told what Utd had offered they walked away. Oh well - Chambers at right back & Clyne at left then?!

2.) 23 Apr 2014
He's not going to leave!

3.) 23 Apr 2014
And do you expect him to go in the summer ed002?

Big Lal

{Ed002's Note - I suspect Manchester United will manage to negotiate an acceptable fee. Chelsea made it clear in January that what was being asked was well beyond what they would be willing to pay and they have moved on to look elsewhere.}

4.) 23 Apr 2014
Shaw is ahead of bale at his age but better at going forward than defending, will we miss him not as much as Liverpool if they lost Suarez.

5.) 23 Apr 2014
^ Shaw does a lot more defensively than people realise

6.) 24 Apr 2014
Yep, that's what I heard, Shaw to Utd is as good as done (not Chelsea).
Poch still has not discussed his future so Lallana has said if he's not staying he will consider his future (Liverpool).
Lovren to Liverpool (Champs League) highly likely.
Cork as good as gone. (Newcastle now Everton interested, plus Palace, Swansea etc) No contract offers until manager sorted (Poch paid £12m for Vic, his favourite) with just 12 months remaing on Cork's deal club gets something now or nothing next year.
SRL was desperate to move in Jan, his last big move (30+).
Don't shoot the messenger, it's not all rosy, we're not threatening the top 4 and there's lots of uncertainty around the club. For Sale?
The Eds should know this is true.

Absolutely none of that is true, st nicholas

OH SPARE ME THE BS. There is so much tripe being written on here. Particularly by so-called 'St' Nicholas. Anyone who believes that post needs their head read.

The Club is most certainly not for sale. Cork, SRL, Lallana and Lovren are not going anywhere.

Shaw is the only player with a realistic chance of going anywhere, and if it does happen it won't be at the end of this season.

9.) 24 Apr 2014
AS - I've heard similar to SN & haven't heard anything on incomings. I think it all revolves around Poch - he has 1 year left on his contract and said that he is 'calm' and would review his situation at the end of the season. If he stays and signs an extension, then I think all will be rosy - if he moves on - then maybe not. All this talk of our players and manager interesting other clubs is all down to how well we have done this season, so I'm going to renew my ST & hope all is good!

10.) 24 Apr 2014
Well you have just proved to me that your 'rumours' are most likely all to be false St Nicholas and you need to cheer up.

You are taking all the negative parts coming out of the media and believing every single one of them and posting them on here, talk about being naive!

I know for a fact that SRL wasn't desperate to move in Jan it was in fact Cortese trying to sanction a deal to West Ham United against the wishes of the player. Lambert wants to finish his career at Southampton and that is very well known, the only club that would tempt him is his beloved Liverpool.

11.) 24 Apr 2014
I have read the guardian article as well and it contains a long list of prospective transfer targets which includes luke shaw.
Could be that luke will go, he and his agent will make the decision.

This is the saints bit of the transfer rumours site so commenting on what has happened at old trafford in the last 48 hours is not really my business but the whiff of panic fed by the media frenzy I reckon will make a lot of prospective transfer targets stand back and have a look before they say yes in what ever language they speak.

No champions league football either.

I will be brave and say luke will stay for a while with us before heading off to the bridge where his mum and dad will watch him play.

12.) 24 Apr 2014
Shaw has asked to leave, why do so many fans stick their head in the sand or somewhere darker. Oxlade-Chamberlain won't be sold, Bale won't be sold blah blah.

Shaw let the club know months ago that he wanted to leave this summer. There were some issues over timing, the World Cup and the fee.

The club is possibly for sale but that isn't a drama nor is the sale of Shaw.

We have several targets in the summer albeit the budgetary controls are tighter.

{Ed001's Note - you need to register or at least put a name to your posts from now on or they will just be deleted out of hand.}

13.) 24 Apr 2014
Shaw does not want to leave. And isn't it funny how it's always the same people making the posts suggesting it. You're either the gloomiest of Saints fans or not true supporters at all.

14.) 24 Apr 2014
I do apologise for burying my head in the sand over saints.

I accept both my and other saints fans are not worthy to comment on our club when of course people like you know what is happening. You need to set up your own site 'english club facts what I know' may be good name for you though I expect the conversations that you have your site will be with your self.

Lastly grow some cojones and get your self a user name.

Sorry ED know it is a bit rude but really they did need telling.

15.) 24 Apr 2014
Shaw will go because the money he's being offered - 100k pw is too good to refuse. (I know this is fact)
No one else is expected to leave at the moment - to suggest Saints are willing to sell 6 players - shaw, lallana, chambers, cork, lovren and SRL is just plain stupid - we would be left with nothing - why would we do it?
For the papers to suggest we are going to sell half of our best starting line up is just ridiculous.

16.) 25 Apr 2014
Well said 67Saint!

As I said above, Shaw is the only one that could realistically go. Whilst this is distinctly possible down the track, I am told (by a member of the matchday staff) that his family is keen for him to stay at Saints at least another season. Above all else, if he does move I expect it would eventually be to Chelsea, or at least to a side playing Champions League (i. e. not Man U).

FINALLY, all this talk of him having agreed a wage with Man U is utter bs! Wage discussions don't occur until a transfer fee is agreed between clubs (as a rule). Why on earth would Saints agree a fee now, and not wait until after the World Cup when (if he gets picked in the squad) his stock will rise even higher. The Liebherr family got to where they are by being commercially savvy, so they would be aware of this!

17.) 25 Apr 2014
Sorry eds, it was me that just commented on this without logging in - talking about Shaw's transfer move and agreeing with 67Saint etc.

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, I would have just put a note on the end asking you to register but posted it because it was a good post.}

18.) 25 Apr 2014
The statement from Les Reed should put an end to the nonsense posts.

His statement sets out what saints want to try and achieve. I hope we keep Luke, Adam, etc etc but football being football and clubs with more clout than saints are out there we may lose a player or two. Hope not, but it will be the players who want to go not saints need to sell.

We have moved on, c'mon look where we were just a couple of seasons ago.
