What were the rumours? He'd be good, we need to get 2 decent strikers and I hope one of them is Ings and we sign some players soon as we need 5 players

2.) 21 Jun 2014
The rumours were just saying about how he went on loan to fyonored and koeman wants him to join southampton

3.) 22 Jun 2014
Guidetti would be decent, really underrated and Koeman seems to be able to get the best out of him. He'd definitely improve if we keep the same level of training and he gets a lot of game time

@Stevo with the current squad we've got, we probably only NEED 3 signings, a top class 'keeper, centre back and a striker similar to Lambert. Obviously I wouldn't say no to more decent transfers though ;) if it was me signing players, picking the team and we were going 3-5-2 or 5-3-2, however people see it, I'd go with;
GK-Alphonse Areola
CB-Martins Indi
CB-Van Dijk
CB-Lovren
LWB-Targett/Cresswell (Shaw if he ends up staying)
RWB-Chambers
DM-Schneiderlin
DM-Cork (Wanyama in against teams that like to counter attack)
AM-JWP (Lallana if he stays)
AM/ST-Pelle
ST-J-Rod
Bench-Boruc, Clyne, Fonte, Wanyama/Cork, Reed, Davis, Guidetti

Further to comments below: Southampton registered an interest in Ings last season but a long time before Koeman was appointed. It is understood that Ings isn't the sort of player that Koeman wants. However, it also remains to be seen to what extent the new manager has full control over transfers.
A lot now will depend whether or not any unsettled players will be persuaded to stay by a relatively big name manager. Looks like that Shaw will go and that Lallana wants to force a move to Liverpool.
Chelsea, Utd and Liverpool have all said that Saints are asking too much for these players. This is why, in the past couple of weeks, there have been press reports saying they are looking elsewhere. All part of the game to unsettle the players and drive the price down.

5.) 22 Jun 2014
SaintySaintSaint, that team has no real width and frankly can't see Koeman adopting that formation

they are all on long term contracts so there is no reason for us to lower our valuations, at the end of the day if they want the players and the players want to leave then they will have to pay what we are asking otherwise the player does not go, it is very simple really

7.) 22 Jun 2014
No. It's not that simple. Players and agents decide transfers nowadays. No club can afford to keep unhappy players on wages of 10s of thousands a week.
In the end Liverpool will claim they have paid less than they have and Saints will claim Liverpool paid more than they actually did.
A lot of the time the negotiations will be over the period of time the transfer fee is paid. Southampton might want £30 million over 18 months but the buying club might offer £25 million over 2 years plus clauses.
So, no, transfers aren't that simple ;)

{Ed002's Note - The amount paid is lodged with the FA and with UEFA.}

seemed pretty simple when liverpool said to suarez no your not leaving and that's that last summer when he was agitating for a move away, so maybe I was a little simplistic but the club CAN just say no whether the player likes it or not

Good to see you back ed002. Don't let some a few argumentative persons put you off posting here.

{Ed002's Note - I was only posting to ensure folks are not being misled. I won't be answering questions about Southampton.}
