John Guidetti of Man City will be Saints bound for a fee of 6m. 22 y. o Swede, played under Koeman at Feyenoord and scored 20 in 23.

Lovren is all but completed and will be finished by the end of the week.

I was slated for saying this before but maybe people are starting to see the truth. the players we are being linked with are just not of the same quality as what is leaving or what we were being linked with last year. Leandro Damaio for 21m springs to mind. We got 27+ for shaw 25 for lallana and all we are being linked with is decent but nothing outstanding/marquee players for 6m/10m here and there. I can understand why Lovren would feel the ambition has gone. and yes we may spend the 60m from transfer fees but what about the 80m from sky??

Hopefully when we are finished with our new signings we will have much more depth to our squad, which is something we lacked last season.

If you have followed damaio's form since he went to santos, you might be glad we didn't sign him.

'big' signings take time and as to links and rumours its all just paper talk, they see saints selling off good players and think we are going backwards, therefore link us with smaller targets.

However, no smoke without fire, and at least one marquee signing, if only to appease the worriers and calm those players that seem to be getting restless (although again may just be paper talk) would be nice
