So he's from London. Not settled 70 miles south of where he was born so thinks that moving to the other end of the country will be the way forward?

His girlfriend told a friend of mine at the weekend. I think he wants a bigger city to live in that's more cosmopolitan. It's not home he misses. Just not a lot going on down here. I'm a massive saints fan so I hope it's not true but I will be putting a bet on just incase

The lad lives in London. Most of the squad live in and around london. I doubt if he wants to move it's because he's not settled or wants to move to a bigger city.

If Clyne and Morgan are dead set on moving to 'bigger clubs' (obviously for higher wages -nothing else ) then hold out for ceiling high prices. Man Utd would buy at any price to get instant success for LVG so take advantage of his paranoia to finish in the top 4 or higher. Give a large chunk of the funds to get in players that could do the job just as good or better! COYR

I can't get too worked up about this. I'm expecting Morgan to to leave in the summer but I'm expecting him to do his best until then. Every team will be strengthening next season so we have have to take advantage of what we have now.
Keeping Ron is more important because he puts the pieces together and makes them work.

I expect Clyne to move on in the summer but don't agree with the op for the reasons.

He's shown before that he's got a career path mapped out - ran his contract down at Palace so he could get a move to the Premier League; chose Saints over a number of bigger suitors because he wanted to play plenty of games right away. Having now established himself as one of the best right backs in the league and become an England starter and with only 18 months left on his contract, Clyne holds all the cards in preparation for the next phase of his rise to the top.

If Saints get CL football, he might sign an extension, but realistically I think he'll be plying his trade elsewhere come August.

Let's hope Sam Byram (or whoever it is Saints have got lined up to replace him) will slot in as seamlessly as Bertrand has in replacing Shaw.

It seems to me that everybody is resigning themselves to losing our best players come the summer, why ? Unless some of the players are a bit thick why would they want to leave a dynamic forward thinking club that can offer them all a good long term contract and the stability they would need for a successful future. I think Lallana and Lovren have found out it can affect their careers to the negative by being greedy. All this talk I believe surrounds Morgan weighing up his options publicly and saying he'll make a decision in the summer when he sees how we are doing. Great player but why are we on bended knee to him, we are his employer and SFC should really be calling the shots not the employee, if he can't show full commitment to our future why don't we move him on now to settle the ship.

SainySaintSaint, Clyne lives in Southampton about a mile from the ground.
