Bales gone for £85.3 million. Does anyone know how much Southampton are entitled to? Due to youth development and such. I don't imagine it'll be much, but every bit is useful.

Around £3m ish. Nothing worth getting excited about sadly.

2.) 01 Sep 2013
Have heard its 5%,

3.) 01 Sep 2013
Assuming the figures are correct it amounts to roughly £4, 250,000. Which, when you think about it, is pretty good actually. Covers the remainder of our losses with Forren and then some. Tidies up the transfer kitty.

Think you'll find that it is 2. 5 per cent as he continued the youth development scheme at Tottenham. So Saints and them split the 5%.

5.) 01 Sep 2013
I think the youth development is between 14-17 yrs, Was he not older than 17yr? ( I really can't remember)

6.) 02 Sep 2013
He moved at 16 did he not?

7.) 02 Sep 2013
He was sold at 17

8.) 02 Sep 2013
Think you'll find the youth development scheme actually runs till they are in their 20's seems silly I know.

We get a sliding scale based on his development, in bales case the figure is calculated on the fact he came onto our books at 15 and left at 17. We will get 1% which is 850k. There was a sell on clause of 15% rising to 25% if he was sold to another English club but we gave that back to spurs when we were in administration in exchange for 2 million and a goalkeeper (tommy forecast)
