Saints sign Ryan Bertrand on season-long loan from Chelsea. Idea behind this to provide competion and cover for Targett but with the intention of Targett being the first-team choice in future and giving Bertrand first-team chances now so Chelsea take him back for the next season or possibly for Saints to buy in future. Nicked him from Liverpool's hands which is sweet but unusual for Saints to make a loan signing.

I think now we've signed Bertrand, Target will play back up to him and be slowly broken into our prem first team

Honestly I think it is unofficial but the Guardian and possibly other media are saying Saints may have to cough up £10m if they wish to buy him:
