thank god pelle scored after all those chances. shane long justified his 12m with that bit of trickery alone. 2nd half much better 1st half we looked like an average championship side.

The main reason that Pelle hasn't scored previously is that he has been getting poor quality service. I've not seen one decent cross for the lad!

Also, since he seems to be the sole focus of our attack, it's easier to stop.

It seems that Pelle has become the new Danny Fox amongst some fans in being the scape-goat for all the ills of the team. It's quite comical really!

Pelle needs time to adjust to the EPL that's for sure, he seems to be lacking confidence and therefore needs fans getting behind him and supporting him to build his confidence and resiliency. Also I agree the crossing and service hasn't been that spectacular so far.

Thought he started to show some excellent reasons as to why we bought him.

Most importantly the frustration he feels when he misses. It shows an incredible passion. I have little doubt he will push and push both himself and his team mates.

Pleased for Pelle to get his goal - you could see what it meant to him to get the monkey off his back.

Once the team stopped hoofing the ball at every opportunity (seriously, that first half performance must rate as one of Saints' worst in 3-4 years), and started zipping it around, everyone looked better. Pelle's movement off the ball improved as the game wore on and he actually got himself into a number of good positions - something he didn't manage in either PL game.

Obviously, it was only against a weakened Millwall, so let's not get carried away, but he showed a few promising moments that maybe hint at better days ahead. The goal will give him a boost and the great support the fans gave him throughout that second half should put a spring in his step.

That first half, though. Jeez.

Never mind crossing it to him! stop pumping it up there to him on his head and chest. we need players around him and to play the ball to his feet, he has some shot on him. all to easy to hoof it when you have a big lad upfront.
