I am getting fed up with saints. I have supported them for nearly 50 years. The last 3 have been the most frustrating though. We had the opportunity to build a league winning team and dropped the ball. Every season we loose 2/ 3/ 4 quality players and replace with something of less ability (in most cases) . Where are we going with this approach.
In my humble opinion we need 3 new players for this season a centre back, a quality holding midfielder and a decent centre forward. I think we are going to struggle otherwise. Puel needs to go back to playing players in their best positions e. g. Redmond and Tadic. Early days I know (and I hope for the best) but if I am honest I think Puel is going to struggle to get to grips with the Premier league. He does not seem to appreciate that the team needs more quality and strength in depth. Guess we will see.

Hang on, you've supported Saints for 50 years and the past 3 have been the most frustrating? We've finished higher and higher in the last 3 years than any other and you're bitching about squad additions. I don't think saints are ever going to be "big guns". We've not got the cash to compete with the likes of both halves on Manchester or the big halves of London. The fact that we've qualified for Europe two out of the three "most frustrating" seasons of your 50 year support is perplexing to me. Look at results not what you wish for.

Well thanks for your lack of ambition Leicester are not ether from Manchester or North London and they did win the league so maybe if the board said no once in a while we could take this league and break the monopoly of buying the league instead of developing your own youngsters those big clubs you respect so much don't roll over challenge them.

I do agree about players though including a squad gker, defender and striker I think are bare essential needed.

It's not about a lack of ambition. What happened last season with all the big clubs struggling at once was a once in a blue moon event. Ranieri himself said that there's more chance of aliens landing than Leicester managing to pull that off again. It's not about a lack of ambition, it's about a measure of realism. Yes, we need to bring in new players. I have faith that the board will pull that off themselves, in time. I also have faith the saints and Puel. :)

See you in the stands!
We march on!
