I can't believe we haven't got chambers on loan. I'm certainly not an expert but if the window slams shut and we have not signed a CB then I think we are seriously light of quality in that position after the obvious first choice pair.

I for one am very unhappy with his choice of club as well.
Middlesbrough? Really?
I'm a Saints fan who lives in Middlesbrough, and all I have heard this season off the newly promoted Boro fans is that we are going down this season (HAHA! )

He's going to find it really hard this season to get valuable experience that Arsenal will be looking for for him. Playing in an average team.

We could have offered European football which I'm sure Arsenal would have been delighted for him to get.

He would not have been a sure fire starter in our side and therefore Arsenal wouldn't have seen it as beneficial for him to come to us anyway. I doubt he would have played much more in our team than he would have at Arsenal. Him going to Boro for the season makes perfect sense as he's more guaranteed to get a long run of games in the premier league - that's the whole point of a loan from the parent club's perspective.

Maybe so, but I cannot see Boro finishing any higher than bottom 6 this season.
Severely lacking upfront. If Negredo gets injured they have no one - it'll be our own Gaston up front.

Just think he could have done MUCH better and get better experience.

How much better experience can you get than playing every week against top players. He's needs to prove he's the type of player everyone has been rating him as for years so going to borough means he'll be very busy in defence and will have to use all his game and discipline to help them.
