Ed's/everyone - what are your thoughts on Gabbiadini as a player if we do sign him. I don't really know what to think of him as he seems to be a sub mostly for Napoli, do you think he is better than what we already have? What qualities do you think he will bring to the team?

Obviously, we would all like a striker who can score 15+ goals a season. However, I don't see Gabbiadini being that.

Always dubious about players coming from the Italian leagues. A good percentage don't seem to work out, and not just for Saints but for other Prem clubs too.
That said I'm sure the team in the black box has done their homework.

And I'd still prefer Ulloa who would probably be a third of the price. At least he is proven in the prem.

Well he is coming now! Pelle did well for us, so why not Gabbidini?

I think he should do ok, physically he has the traits to handle the PL being over 6ft and his style is to hold up play. We will have to wait and see if he settles. but its good to have more solutions and interesting possibilities

I am looking forward in him coming because at we are signing someone! He has also scored 15+ goals for one of his former serie a clubs.

Gabbiadini is not a traditional target man as suggested above, his strengths are his work rate, ability to play all across the front as well as his finishing. He is a player who is best facing the goal not with his back to it.
