A lot of media outlets reporting Luke Shaw told saints he wanted out on the last game of the season. If United are offering £30m we should accept, he's good but he's not £30m good. Can't see anybody spending that when they can get top draw left backs around the world for half! I also heard Jack Cork has been offered a 3 year contract and has been promised a role in the first 11 next season. Don't take my word on that just what i've heard, but if its true could that mean somebody like Schneiderlin moving on?

Can't see how anyone can promise cork a starting 11 start as we have no manager yet

2.) 09 Jun 2014
I will never understand why would you sign a five year contract and within a year completely change your mind about staying at a club

3.) 09 Jun 2014
I agree taking £30m for Luke Shaw - that's a lot of young LBs with potential you could develop for that money. We should take it - if Saints can sell one player a season to fund the whole of the academy system then that is good business, keep the rest in house for the squad. I think Jack Cork could be captain next season, he looks like a captain when on the pitch. No idea what he is like in training or as a man manager.

It's good for the club as they then have a negotiating hand but I think the players have been tapped up on England duty by fellow players.
Cork staying doesn't mean Spider leaving.they played enough times together last season.
I've got to the stage where I'm less worried about playes leaving and more angry with their attitude. Let them go and get people in who want to play for us.

If you really think managers still run everything with the team then you need to wake up

6.) 09 Jun 2014
Play Wanyama and Cork as holding players and push Spider forward in the Lallana role.

He started to be more forward towards the end of the season and can get tackles in even higher up the pitch.

Sounds like ranieri could be boss? Anything in it. Coyr sign up koeman, he's a better option and announce it soon. Anything in it ED?

8.) 09 Jun 2014
Hi just heard that talks with koeman have broken down? Anything in it? ED? Rocket?

9.) 09 Jun 2014
Ranieri's odds have come down like about 6 others in recent weeks but Koemans remain the same. I understand Koeman is still the man and Ranieri is not in the running. I would be quite happy with either.

From what I have read, utd bid is nowhere near £30m. Apparently it's about £15m plus many unrealistic add ons. Probably like winning the league or champions league etc. I'm not sure saints fans would like him to go for that sort of money, considering he has a lengthy contract and is just breaking into the England team. There could be the possibility of him trying to earn himself a new contract. Although I feel the papers would have got something on it

"I will never understand why would you sign a five year contract and within a year completely change your mind about staying at a club"

Signing on fee, increased wages, extra bonuses, increased existing bonuses.

Shaw wanted to leave last summer but was persuaded to sign a new contract. He agreed to stay one moreyear. Indicated in January 14 that he wanted to leave

{Ed029's Note - Not to mention a long-term deal adds value

This is how pretty much every transfer deal is constructed

Oxlade-C went to Arsenal for a free payable over 5 years

13.) 10 Jun 2014
I thought nc insisted ox money was payed upfront or no deal would happen?

14.) 10 Jun 2014
Coyr sign up koeman before Friday and announce it, get him not someone different.

15.) 10 Jun 2014
Fat Dave I think you missed what I was trying to say. I didn't say £15m up front. I agree, £15m over 5 seasons is normal, but they won't pay the other £15m over 5 seasons if the bonuses are not met. I think it would be more realistic value if £25m over 5 seasons, with bonuses to bump up to 30. We should be in control, not utd or the player

Whilst it is a distinct possibility Luke will leave this summer I would hope he does NOT go to Man Utd. I have nothing against the club but see a distinct possibility they will have a difficult season with the new manager having to come down hard on some of the influences within the club. This could be a potentially toxic situation for a guy of 19 adjusting to a new team and a rebuilt defence. He would do well to steer well away for a season IMO. (No, not Chelsea either! A lad of 19 does not need a manager who seems to delight in being critical of his own players-again he should steer well clear.) Different matter for an older player already built an international reputation.

17.) 10 Jun 2014
Coyr sign up koeman, hope we announce our new manager this week bad it's koeman and no one else. Coyr sign up koeman and then sign some decent players and keep our players

18.) 10 Jun 2014
Get in koeman
