The press from the forwards is fine if they keep fit, but fitness has not been that good in the recent past.
I would certainly like to see another forward to help rest Long/ Ings.
Not an easy find in January but could be useful insurance.

Agree with much of what you say, but if it takes last season and the start of this season for RK to appreciate the club had lost its way then he really should have gone to an optician.
That sort of insight gets clubs relegated.

Anyone who can bring a decent CB with them!

I like the look of this squad.
All of a sudden there is character flowing throughout the squad. This has been missing.
Based upon this and the potential of many in the group I predict an improving situation as the season develops. 7/ 8th for me, and somewhere along the way a strong cup run.

Why would we want Sakho? 7 CBs?

Bertrand is good in a back 3, and has a wicked free kick on him. Add that to his other strengths and get him over his recent injury, and he will be a breath of fresh air. Quality, and versatility.

Agree. He will have seen quickly the key issues that he can get to grips with prior to January.
Not a good result, but a performance that will help him to immediately focus-concentration from start to finish, press, move the ball quickly, cut out errors.

I would suspect some/ one may be added, if required-and it would be surprising if the requirement was not seen pretty quickly.

Looks as if fitness coaches are going to get some overtime!

Worst forwards I recall in pre-season were Le God and a certain R. Lambert.
Keep the faith.
