The only reason I can think of is that in 5-a-side training, his little legs on a little pitch makes him stand out.

Two young CBs but Ramsdale, KWP and Taylor add experience around them. Two solid DMs.

Sugawara, Dibling and Ameyaw have been the players to get me on the edge of my seat, so let's throw the kitchen sink and experiment.

Diaz, AA, Archer and Stewart have fallen short so let's give Onuachu a go and get balls in the box.

Frustrating result and penalty miss but I saw three big positives.

1. Better Starting 11. Managed to get Fernandes, Ugochukwu and Dibling in the side

2. Standout Performers - Thought Dibling, Ramsdale and Sugawara were excellent.

3. Positive Tweaks - No suicidal passes, we took players on and Stewart gave us a target man.

We need to improve our mentality, physicality and finishing. I would also like to see ABK given a shot and a 4 2 3 1.

Poor result but a step in the right direction overall and glad RM showed some flexibility.

Maybe enough to be competitive but obviously dependant on how fernandes, ugachukwu and possibly alberto would adapt against actual prem quality. But would give me hope and positivity!

Unfortunately I don't think abk gets near the starting 11 for whatever Martins reasons maybe. I also fear he is overly loyal to smallbone, Stephens and AA who for me will never be prem standard. Most worryingly if any of that back 5 were to be long term injured we are in a world of trouble. Wood, Edwards, bree (screamer aside lol) would get absolutely destroyed in the prem and struggled to even cope with Cardiff reserves. If we can keep that 11 fit with likes of dibling, edozie, amo etc on bench I think we have a shout. So pray for injury gods to be kind and martin to occasionally mix it up (we can hope) and let's have a go at staying in the promised land!

Now Fernandes is confirmed, I don't believe we are now strongly linked with any incomings at this moment in time. Assuming our chest is empty, and we need to sell to buy (as was said before we just spent £30m!), I'm expecting the following departures.

- Mara is gone for £10m - that'll cover Fernandes
- Bree I can't see playing for us, can we get £2m for him?
- Alcaraz I'd like to keep if we can't get £18m+ for him, but that could help fund a replacement (don't know who tho)
- Larios is off on loan or possibly permanently apparently
- Lis nearly out the door for £3m or so. Also Lumley? Martin clearly isn't going to play him except in an emergency.
- Edozie, does he have a future with us? If not, at a big loss granted, could we get £4-6m to get rid?
- Then there's Tall Paul. If we could get him sold for £8m or so, take it - hopefully a deal that comes through on or near deadline day.
- only other one is Sulemana. I like a bit of an X factor but he is so frustrating. World beater in our final game before relegation but nothing since. Who knows. I'd like to keep him.

Those departures would trim our squad to a sensible size of about 25 as we'd want, and we obviously need a goalie coming in.

The deadwood going could raise £20m or so, maybe nearer £35m if Charly goes.

A proper keeper will cost us £10m if we were to look overseas, or nearer £20m for someone in the PL. That then leaves one chunk for one quality player. And I think that depends on Alcaraz. If he goes, there may just be enough if they really do want O'Riley.

If not, I think and hope that just a keeper remains to be found, as it'll be deemed we have sufficient cover elsewhere.

Deep down, I fear that Martin is going to stick with McCarthy - his third choice in the championship last season - and that will make survival even tougher.
