Jay Rod (remember him? ) has tweeted that he's okay and can't wait to get back playing for us soon.

hopefully now we've got Austin there won't be any pressure on J-Rod to hit the ground running and can use the rest of this season to start getting back to his best.

IF he can do that we've got 3, 4 maybe even 5 strikers who can score 10+ a season and if no one leaves in the summer a front line of Austin, J-Rod, Pelle, Long, Mane, Tadic looks a pretty scary thing.

Don't forget juanmi, who I think has yet to adapt to the premier league.

What is the actual news on j rod? Another website has a interesting piece on it and was just wondering if someone closer to the club knew anything?

I honestly belive Pelle will go either in this transfer window or the summer to Juventus so he can finish his career in his homeland and guarantee himself some silver wear. I also think Mane will go in the summer for £25-£30 million there is a lots of speculation liking him to some big teams in Europe, again I would blame him. If Pelle did go in this window I think we should replace him with Remy, same sort of money, proven PL experience and got a point to prove with the euros in him home country.

Saints website or at least their official twitter feed have 'welcomed' Jay Rod back.

he's due to be back in full training on Monday I believe, probably looking at the Chelsea/ Bournemouth games at the very earliest for him being back in the team though.

J Rod may come on for cameo appearances in a month or so, however I can't see him being included this season as a starter unless we get real injury problems . The guy has been to hell and back and to me it makes sense to keep him close to the action but realistically we should be looking at next season for his challenge to return to the starting eleven.
