Been told by a friend at the club both Swansea and Neil Taylor have agreed terms on a switch to St Marys! Not sure on fee!

1.) 21 May 2014
Is he any good? Sound likely ED

{Ed002's Note - It seems very plausible.}

2.) 21 May 2014
Hideous statement of intent, if true. Replacing one of the best young left backs in world football with a guy who can't even get in the Swansea side as he's a sorry shadow of the player he was before breaking his leg. Lost all his pace - his only meaningful asset.

It'd be like selling a Rolls Royce and replacing it with a skateboard. With only three wheels.

If that's the best Saints can come up with, if that's the level of player they're in the market for now, then I guess the new "project" has placed cheap-and-cheerful mediocrity as its ultimate goal. No wonder the rats are fleeing the ship.

There are better left backs in the Championship, frankly.

3.) 21 May 2014
Could be a back up for shaw rather than replacement?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

4.) 21 May 2014
If this is our level of target then the owner needs to put us up for sale ASAP. On the brink of pushing for top six next yr and what happens? We go into meltdown the owner and new chairman say nothing whilst the club is embroiled in rumour and the fans are tortured by continuous reports of players wanting out and the manager being up for grabs by a team we should be competing against, not bowing down too. Liebherr OUT unless you and the chairman can grow a set. This would never have been allowed to happen under the don.

5.) 21 May 2014
Wouldn't even get in the side. This is made up by the media to add more weight to the shaw fiasco. It is unlikely we have a board solely made up of persons.

6.) 21 May 2014
We need to sign a gk, lb (potentially), cb, cam (potentially) and a striker. Sell mayuka and osvaldo and give Rowe and others a chance

We were nearly bust 5 years ago, starting on -10 at the bottom of league 1. Have some perspective FFS!

8.) 22 May 2014
Ed why so dismissive of deadball79? Do u know something we don't?
We don't know for sure if shaw is off, could be mostly paper speculation? If shaw was to stay, we would need a back up lb. we have target but maybe mopo doesn't think he will be ready to cover this year. Personally I can see shaw going but maybe not this season. Give time for target to mature and our new lb to settle.

{Ed002's Note - There has been a firm offer for Shaw. It is not papers speculating.}

Dont forget we have recently sold Danny Fox so we will need cover for whoever is going to be the first choice left back next season. I think the Shaw deal will happen, I don't want it to but if the money is spent wisely then we will continue to grow.

10.) 22 May 2014
HI ED are Liverpool looking elsewhere now instead of lallana? And has Man U bid for shaw been accepted? Is cress well a possible signing? ED thanks

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

11.) 22 May 2014
I know there had been a firm offer, but I just remain optimistic. Maybe the board do mean business. Every interview I've seen from Krueger or reed tend to suggest they will do all they can to keep the group together. The papers seem to report everything being a done deal. I'm not sure who to believe but based on the amount of rubbish printed in the media, I for now am behind Krueger and co.

Ed002 - how do you know there has been a firm offer for Luke Shaw?You are not going to tell me you have sources inside Southampton football club because i'm afraid that's not credible. The Saints do not discuss their deals with the press period. All this talk of a done deal is just that talk, nothing to back it up whatever!

{Ed002's Note - Could you point me toward where I said there was a "done deal". Formal offers were made Shaw and for Lallana. A verbal offer was made Lovren. I have explained all of this to you - perhaps you have not read the posts?}

13.) 22 May 2014
K ED so does lallana and shaw staying look likely? I hope lallana and poch and everyone else stays and we buy decent players

{Ed002's Note - I would think there is a good chance one or both will leave.}

14.) 22 May 2014
Well I just have a gut feeling shaw will stay and were in the market for a back up lb. I also don't see lallana going yet either but I have been told spider is likely to go. We won't no if eds info is right or not untill next season but personally I just don't see a need for them to go. They play in a good side already that is always improving and they've been selected for brazil and adam is our captain so why leave? Money? i'm sure saints would improve their contracts to keep them

..............removed nonsense............

{Ed002's Note - You have to be some sort of idiot. I have explained the situation.}

16.) 22 May 2014
I can accept shaw leaving, but lallana would be a massive lost. But it seems that the clubs (Liverpool and saints) are around 5 million apart in valuation, I think it will be harder to replace lallana than shaw for the fees being talked about. IMO lallana is worth far more to us than 20 mil when you consider we will have to give 5 to bournemouth. That's if Liverpool are prepared to meet our valuation. We just have to hope that either we play hard ball and price them out of a deal of better still, accept an offer and the player himself declines to move. Fingers crossed. If both these players go I can see the owners having to fit a revolving door. Sad times, perhaps we performed a bit TO WELL last season.

17.) 23 May 2014
Do you think lallana will leave ED? I don't think he will. Have we had anymore interest in players? Rafa

{Ed002's Note - You are wasting my time.}

How can it be nonsense to question your sources Eds2? not once has Shaw said he wants to leave. Has he put in a transfer request? No. I prefer to believe what the club has said three times now, that players will not be leaving. Obviously if someone comes in and offers ridiculous money like say 40 million for Shaw or lallana they would have to think about it, but otherwise I just can't see it. It would make no business sense, Saints are so close to achieving what very few clubs have achieved a place in the Champions league. I don't believe they will listen to any offers. Interesting to note also that Kroos, Reus and one other have turned down the chance to join United. They are just not seen as a hot ticket any more. They face a major rebuilding job have not got as strong an academy as we do, and history has shown that bar Man City s gargantuan spending, you can't just buy success.You have to bring youngsters through and then build around them.

{Ed002's Note - Southampton gave a figure for Shaw to Chelsea in January. It was well beyond what Chelsea were prepared to pay so they have moved their interest elsewhere. Manchester United are still interested in the player. An offer was also made for Lallana by Liverpool and a separate verbal offer was made for Lovren. The club will are aware that there will soon be an offer for another player. You won't need to worry about me providing information any more.}
