I can't help but feel that we have to look at our attacking problems and our lack of midfield creativity.

Suggest what we need is to replace Yoshida, add an attacking midfielder and back up keeper, plus get replacements for Mane and Pelle, who should be sold in the summer.

We have ten games gto go and ROKO and the board have plenty of time to assess our requirements.

At the moment our best available midfield is Romeu, Clasie and S. Davis. When they're fully fit I can't understand why we'd play anyone else, no one else's dynamics fit the squad like they do when we play 3 at the back.

I think a more pressing question would be why hasn't Chaz Austin scored in 5 when he keeps getting great chances and putting them wide?

Both Fonte (free kick) and van Dijk (missed header) made errors that gave Bmouth the lead and Yoshida was made the sacrificial lamb in a sense when Koeman wanted to change things. I do agree we need another CB but I think more as an eventual replacement for Fonte rather than for that 3rd CB position.

We're very close to having a great squad. Potentially 6 players (Austin, Pelle, J-Rod, Long, Mane, Tadic) who can score 10+ a season and a defence that could very realistically concede less than 25 next season

This summer we should start looking at replacing the ageing players (Fonte, Davis, Pelle) with similar ones, maybe a different winger or possibly 2 if we have to replace Mane and maybe another CB similar to VVD and we'll have a regular top 6 squad.

Definitely agree with you sainty, I feel quite positive about the summer. only thing I'd say is 2bd goal. the ball was floated in from a long way into the 6 yard box. No question about it at 6'7" and a big fella ff should be clattering everyone in his sight and at least punching that away. poor van dijk was actually lucky not to be injured from ff indecision.

Watching the game on Saturday we have no chance of getting in to Europe again. A lot of fans are unhappy with Pelle and on that performance it was understandable but when Sunderland changed to O'Shea marking him in the last few minutes he was allowed to have a bit more space which led to our goal. In the summer he should go if he wants to head back to Italy. Mane should be sold but no way are other teams going to pay in excess of 20 million for him. Just a little dip in form. Romeu was brilliant against Sunderland and was one of only 4 players to actually show up. Unlucky not to score one too. In the Summer we should look at moving a few players on (Pelle, Mane, Victor w)
If Newcastle go down I can see a mass exodus on their hands. Townsend, Shelvy and wijnaldom would be 3 players that would bolster our team. Till the end of the season though maybe we should look at some of the youngsters. Experience is everything and could surprise roko with their performances.
