what a win today and what a statement too, there is so many player that should start that we don't have room in the 11 for which is a great problem for the manager, Alderweireld looked like a top notch signing, Pelle was fantastic as was Corky and Morgan so many great performances today, we are stronger than last year IMO as we now have depth on top of the quality we had last year, who knows what we could achieve!

I see Osvaldo scored 2 goals for inter. keep scoring buddy and maybe we will get our money back! thought we were great yesterday and I have already eaten humble pie about pelle, he was great, cork was excellent as usual and we still have players to come in. dicks me off when everyone in the media are saying how bad Newcastle were. would like to think saints made them look bad. mind you Newcastle were awful, onwards and upwards COME ON YOU SAINTS

I've always felt that the criticism of Pelle was extremely harsh. For one, the lad was getting practically zero service.

What I am hugely impressed with so far is his clinical nature in front of goal. Keep feeding Pelle and he will score.

Great to see our midfielders chipping in with goals too. Tadic seems to go from strength to strength, Schniederlin and Cork banging in the goals, and defensively we look so very strong. Beat the defense, and you have to beat Forster.

Ronald Koeman, Les Reed, Ralph Kruger take a bow. Credit has to be given where it is due, and the turn around from the depths of the early summer Transfer Window seem a long way behind us right now.

I still feel that we'll get a better points tally than last year. European football next season anyone?

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but I do feel we'll be closer to the mix this year.

Funny old world, isn't it? We have a new Dutch manager who has a rebuilding job to do, we get a 4-0 win and all the media want to talk about is how poor the opposition was.
Up in Manchester, a day later, same situation but all about how great Manchester are, their manager is the new messiah and they will win the league!
Simple truth here. There are next to no proper journalists left in the sport anymore and all they want to do is chatter on about the "big" clubs because it earns their employers more money as there are more customers for their chatter.

You are absolutely right! I didn't think that Newcastle were that bad, and have watched the game four times. I'd put our success down to how good the Saints were. Meanwhile I thought that Man Utds opponents headed by Ol'Melty Face were absolutely abysmal. Come to think of it, while I saw improvements from Man Utd I didn't think they created too many chances.

Put it this way, if it was Saints playing Man Utd yesterday, I wouldn't have been surprised to see a Saints victory. Our defense looks as good as anything in the league despite having a recently patched defense - If that was Toby's debut, just how good is this kid going to be when he's settled!

To top it all off, Van Gaal is now saying they have to target winning the league. Well I guess he's going to be disappointed, since despite having real quality options going forward, Man Utds defense looks shaky at best.

Let's just hope that RoKo doesn't win the dreaded Manager of the Month award, although in my book, he deserves it already!

I can only totally agree about these journalists. The QPR performance was truly embarrassing as it seemed as though they had accepted they would be beaten but just keep the how many by level as few as possible. Might not have done Utd much good that game, may have given them complacency for the next match. Just wish it was us and then maybe these partisan journalists may have to report what a good side we are.

Whilst there is no doubt we played well, and that it should've been 5 with Krul sent off when took down Long in the box and was a stone wall penalty, defensively they were shocking, however they are definetly not the worst team in the league and neither are West Ham, I think we'd expect them to be around us in mid table, so if we can beat them this well who knows? If you compare us to Everton I reckon we could possibly nudge them out of the top 7!!
