I think there's more to this than it seems, nothing from Koeman or the club has been said. Maybe clutching at straws, but I do believe Koeman is a man of his word and if he is dismissing links to Arsenal and the Netherlands why would he go to Everton? But all will be revealed shortly I imagine.

Personally I would have told the toffee's to shove there 3m and kept koeman for another year giving us a whole season to find a new manager, and sort our vulnerable wage structure out.

^but we could potentially lose out on the best guy to take us forward and do we really want someone in charge who doesn't want to be at the club?

Youre clutching at straws, mate! Agreed, I would be asking for a lot more than £3m given the, apparent, spending power of their new majority shareholder.

Koeman would rather be at Everton because they are willing to pay him 6 or 7 million a year and spend 100million in transfers which Southampton are not.
I believe saints need to spend around 50/ 60 million providing we don't sell.

Why can't we match this? . Surely this lacks ambition from saints?

Well we don't match everton's ambition anyway which I think we should be in a position to do so by now?

I get this sort of line of questioning, but I imagine the boards perspective is so far "the Southampton Way" is working, self-sustaining, progressive, why change it?

It's been long evident we do not have the net income to be competitive and ambitious in the way some may want. But the board are appearing to make the right steps, a better kit deal, a view to expand into the American market, these potential commercial growths are what's needed.

In a similar circumstance are Leicester, who having had a tremendous season may already be about to lose one of their star players to the big boys in Jamie Vardy. More may follow out the door. Does that mean they will spend a ridiculous amount of money this summer? Very unlikely, they'll replace as best as they can, same as we do, and then continue to build upon their foundations in a sustainable manner.

All good if it works out but why take the risk every year personally, I think the board think they are being clever but will get caught out, hopfully not.

It's not on to us fans who just want to relax and get excited about the transfer Windows instead of actually believing every rumour regarding a saints player or manager Being linked to bigger clubs, we are a actually a joke club that just sells sells sells! Well and truly feed up with seeing ex saints players and managers representing other clubs.

I beleve we have more money than we say we do.

No doubt Mikey, but the underlying fact is Katerina will not spend serious money if it jeopardises the club's top flight presence and leaves us with a big loss. I think the cut off point was Osvaldo's failure. Ever since then we've only spent the turnover from player sale along with a transfer fund of 10-20 million give or take.

I think the simple fact of why we don't spend that sort of money is that we can't. Financial Fair Play has crippled us compared to the teams around us, given our modest stadium size (so matchday income) and failure to win all the much in the way of prize monies.

There will be a million and one ways to escape finacial fair play rules
She just won't
This is what cortese, poch, and players and staff said and the reason they left
Over half the fans brought into the rubbish of this sustainable bussiness that fatty wants
One big problem the owner sees us as a part of her overall bussiness portfolio
And the point of bussinesses is to make a profit
To own a club and try make it profitable in the premier league is like getting blood from a stone impossible
So this is and was enevitable

She's a lot like doggie dave this one and les is his replica lol.
