Made the schoolboy error of leaving after 93 minutes so I could beat the traffic and get back to London so missed 2 of the 4 goals. That's life .

Not sure how others saw it, but the first 44 minutes was more of the same - mostly dreary with a few sunny spells courtesy of Edozie's pace and trickery. Blackburn didn't offer much and when they went one man down, they basically threw the towel in.

When we move the ball with pace and purpose, when the players break into a jog we look good. The trouble is our safety first mentality overrides all else.

I hope Alcarez feels embarrassed - if you are going to take a pen like that - don't miss it.

Another shout out for Baz who seems to be growing in confidence every week.

The first half was following the normal plot, lots of possession but little else.
We did finally put someone to the sword, but only because they were one man down and just seemed not interested.
I’m not going to say that Martin has suddenly become a great manager, because it was the players on the pitch, attacking, making runs, crosses into the box early, attacking intent.

An encouraging step in the right direction.

5 home wins in a row
Top of the table for the last 10
Unbeaten in 15 games.

For the next half of the season, we need to start winning by 2 or 3 and be the form team into the playoffs.

If Leicester do the double over Ipswich, while we win our games and we beat Ipswich away, there is only a point in it for 2nd! Praying for a Christmas miracle!

I was going to play devil's advocate. Whilst I agree our football and tactics are not the kind I would like to see we are unbeaten in 15. Ipswich are the only surprise team, out of the three that came down we were the worst and still are. But Leicester and Leeds kept hold of most of their squad ours was picked apart. Looking at Leeds results they're not blowing teams away either. So to be where we are at this point in the season I see as a positive.

I am pretty happy with our points tally and signs of progress. We are only 2 points off where we were at the same point in our 2011/2012 winning season and could be third by Christmas.

I would prefer a more penetrating style of play, more comfortable wins and to be closer to the top two but we are on par with Leeds, so a respectable if not overwhelming result.

Let's hope the Jan window kicks us forward. We need another goal contributor and more vision and ambition from the board.
