Anyone help me out with the europa league qualification positions? How far down the table do they go depending on the FA cup winner?

If utd finish 5th and win the FA cup 7th will be the lowest and become the 3rd qualifying round place and 6th position will go straight into the group stage.

If utd don't win the FA cup, 6th is the lowest and will be a 3rd round qualifying place, like last season.

So what's the situation if Liverpool finish above us but win the Europa. They then qualify for champions league. Does that open up another europa spot? Eds. do you know?

{Ed001's Note - yes, the Europa spot would go down a place in the table.}

So if both utd and liverpool win their respective finals then that means even 8th place gets a Europa league place?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Europa is between: Man City, Man Utd, Southampton, West Ham, Liverpool

How they stand: As Manchester City won the League Cup, clubs finishing fifth and sixth are guaranteed entry to the Europa League.

At present that means one of the Manchester clubs, plus either Southampton, West Ham, or Liverpool.

If West Ham win their final two games against Manchester United and Stoke, they will snatch sixth but Southampton – who host Crystal Palace on Sunday – are favourites.

Liverpool could also make the top six if they beat Chelsea and West Brom in their final two matches.

Remaining fixtures:
Southampton: Crystal Palace (H)

West Ham: Manchester United (H), Stoke (A)

Liverpool: Chelsea (H), West Brom (A)

Prediction: Man City, Southampton.

If we finish 8th, we're out of it totally.
