The best ever English Club Sides were built over a period of time. They were teams, not overpaid mercenaries.

Just look at the case of Jose Moronico. Spends millions. Gets success then loses the respect of the players. He moves on to another club with millions to spend does the same thing them moves on.

Because of too much money being involved And clubs signing managers and players who have no interest in the club only their own bloated opinion of their worth and money our teams cannot compete in Europe.

I actually thought Koeman was better than this. Sadly it appears not to be. Money and personal interest over rides anything else. Koeman will have let down, not only the fans and the club, but the whole of true football! fans.

If he had gone to Arsenal, Barcelona or the Dutch National side I could have believed him. But Everton, second rate outfit to even Liverpool.

The writing us on the wall . They could easily do a Newcastle.

Now that he is 99.9% gone - £5m compensation to be agreed today, we can all hate mayonnaise on chips again and start remembering that Tadic, Pelle, Oriel and to a lesser extent Cedric, Reed, Targett and Clasie were all a bit 'disaffected' at points throughout the season with the manager. let's move on. I'm trying, although I can't believe he sent me a personal message when I renewed my season ticket!

gtsaint you are so bitter and blind, trust me going to Everton is not a backwards or even sideways step, its a step up, just because you finished higher than us in the league the past 2 seasons does not mean you are a bigger club, you are not a bigger club, don't want to bark on about history blah blah as if you look you can see we destroy your history, bums on seat again we destroy your attendances, top division for how long?, I feel for you but you are not the only one it happens too, you do it to clubs with players, we have had it done numerous times, its football, don't demean my club by trying to say we are smaller than you, we are not, just move on, no one person is bigger than your club, I can guarantee you every Everton fan likes the Saints, slagging our club does not get you anywhere, you should be slagging your management/ owner for not putting up when we came in.

History doesn't matter. It's not like you can celebrate those cup wins more than just posting on the Internet. Your clubs not making any money from winning them. Most people can't even remember the last time Everton won anything. You've got your history, we've got our future. I know which I'd rather have.

I have to agree with this everton fan, Our board could of given Koeman better terms if they waned. We won't go the extra mile like a lot of other clubs so this will always happen to us. I have to say I think les reed is an idiot, why does he always come to the media and sa negotiations are going well! #idiot.

Sainty another silly statement, pretty damn sure history does matter as it has already happened pal, i'm not going to get into an argument and start slagging you off because I don't work like that, I totally respect the Saints fans as great club who always do things honorably, I think the same of my club, we have not tapped him up, agents do all this, you may find if you dig a little deeper that we approached your club before the season ended behind the scenes, I would think one of your fans on the inside could verify this, Good luck guys and remember no one man is bigger than your club, don't get Martinez though, trust me you will get relegated, don't fall for the chatter like we all did.

Murf1000, it's not a step down in terms of club size, it's a step down as at the moment we are in Europe and have established ourselves in the at the top half of the table, whilst Everton have been going backwards. Nothing against Everton at all, very much like the club and a number of the players, but at the moment from an outsiders perspective you would think we are a more attractive proposition to take forward. Which is why we're all surprised, particularly as a number of your players have also been linked with moves away, very similar to us. But to be fair if someone offered me £7m a year there isn't much I wouldn't do, just a shame for the club really.
