With regards to the Naismith transfer from Rangers to Everton,Steven Naismith was a free agent as his contract with Glasgow Rangers ceased to exist when the club went into liquidation, the newco club "The Rangers" offered him new terms that he refused therefore he was entitled to join Everton as a free agent,so there you go saints001,just out of interest did you guys get as upset when Poch left for Spurs, they certainly aren't a big club nowhere near the standing of 9 times champions Everton with their 1 title in the 60s?

All these deluded scousers are the same red or blue. Ah yeah but our history. You have been behind spurs in the table for years.

your history counts for nothing, if we finished above Spurs the year Poch left the argument would've been the same. Plus that was our first year finishing in the top half of the table, we have now established ourselves there while Everton have dropped out of it. Again have nothing against Everton and I'm sure you'll be back in the top half soon, just not sure why your coming onto the saints site.

I pretty much dislike spurs and that weasel levy and wouldn't bother wasting my time thinking about Poch considering the mess he left us in. Are you bothered that some of us are upset about koeman leaving? Just because he's leaving for everton means we should not be upset? You can see for yourself that some saints fans don't give a toss about your history. Maybe its because ours isn't that prestigious so some of us downplay its importance and significance. I don't know. The man said he'll honour his contract numerous times and went back on his word. It doesn't matter what team he goes to, he's bound to get at least a few backlash. I think we are entitled to vent our fustrations on him just as we did to poch.
A club on the up looks forward, not back.

Saints fans. Everton fan here
I totally understand you being angry but it's football.
But do not put scousers down not one of us has had a go at yourselves. Everton are bigger club we had bad manager in rm, if you think finishing above Everton twice means your bigger your wrong, our fan base, seats on bums, revenue shows this. We had a bad manager for two years and still got far in Europe. Let's see where you finish next year if u get a run in Europe and playing every Sunday. So if you finish in bottom 3 and hull stay up are you saying hull are bigger than saints. No your not and quiet rightly so. Ye it bothers you the manager left but let's just move on. Good luck in Europe and the league next year👍👍👍.

Being a bigger club and being a better prospect to manage are two different things. God, how many times must I say this? I am speaking this to both Saints and Everton fans who feel the need to bring up the "history" argument when we all know that it doesn't play any part here whatsoever! Based on history, Aston Villa and Nottingham are bigger than us (Let's be frank here, there are quitw a few clubs with more prestigious history than us, its not uncommon) doesn't mean they are a more attractive prospect does it?
What few saints fans see as a bigger club constitutes to progress and current position and what could be achieved in the long term, while the few everton fans see as a bigger club constitutes to what has already been achieved thus something already proven. I'm not saying any of these views are wrong but its pretty obvious some of us are at crossroads here and continuing this argument is pretty much pointless.

I'm sorry Pb78 but I would much rather be the better club that we are rather than the bigger club that you claim.
What is bigger. stadium size?
Do you mean you have a better history?
This "bigger club" stuff is pure nonsense.
Get back to school an understand the meaning of the word.

It's the size of the ambition that has enticed your Manager away from your club. Not the size of your club. I agree that a bigger club claim is emotive and difficult to pin down.

The bottom line is this, RK has been sold by Evertons proposal which is clearly and attractive one. He's an ambitious man and Everton have sold him a vision that fits in with that.

It may well be that to replace him you will do the same to a club as we have done to you. It's football and it won't stop happening.

I genuinely hope you have as good a season as we do. Just one place lower of course.

As a blue myself, I think this talk of history is a little bit silly. It is the same thing that some of us have a go at Liverpool fans for so it's embarrassing to use it against other teams. If any of you believe that RK will be coming (not a done deal yet) for the things we have won in the past then you are sadly mistaken. He didn't want to talk the first week, he was happy to see out his contract with the saints. His head has been turned by money, nothing more and nothing less. I had a little convo with Vick here the other day saying much the same. I said I hope us blues can be a bit more humble than others, say city fans for example, now that we have a bit of cash. It has happened to us with players over the last few decades and it leaves a nasty taste, most of us blues can relate. Yet some are on here goading other fans, get a grip boys.
I don't really think it matters how 'big' a club is as long as it is feeding from the premier league on a continued basis then who really cares? Playing in the top flight is the thing that matters, not how many seats a stadium may or may not have. It may be banter but it is a bit lame imo.
