Looking at the telephone numbers being offered for some of our players, I can't help wondering why instead of "holding out for 50 mil" say, we don't get a bit more bullish and insist on getting in fringe players with proven ability from the bigger clubs. Those who may have fallen out of favour, or need 'guaranteed' game time or develop their game.

The money is great to boost the coffers but unless it translates into players on the pitch it is meaningless

Think this is what helped with Jwp transfer, getting Downes on loan. Unfortunately the two teams in the running for Lavia don't have an awful lot to offer, for what we need. No experienced keepers and neither have central midfielders and I think these are the two positions we would need to get someone in.

Has shown glimpses of potential at Liverpool and did ok at Blackburn.But there lyes the problem, another unproven 20 year old. Wonder weather anyone is looking at Drinkwater, bags of experience and on a free even if only for a year?

So if Martin keeps trying to sign players he has worked with before, while at first glance sounds sensible . it’s actually means he is interested in players that play his way!
It’s certainly not the sign of a foreword thinking man, rather a backwards thinking man

All of our keepers are good enough for championship. All of our defenders our midfielders and all of our strikers are good enough for the championship! Just our manager and coaching staff aren’t!

Seriously 2408, our GKs are not good enough. Shot stopping is bang average, commanding the box they are below average and distribution is woeful.

Yes, they can earn a wage in the league we’re in but if you go down memory lane and compare them with the quality we’ve had - they’re not even at the races.

It really is a massive weakness - we absolutely need to spend some money and get someone in.

Chelsea have loads of very good youngsters and we are desperate for a Striker, just wondering if we could convince Broja to come back on loan for the year, with an option to buy if we get promoted?

They have a good number of midfielders that could come across and 'Do a Liveramento' its worth asking the question.
