It's interesting that all the players that have left or loaned, are ones we all questioned being in the starting lineup. We were full of players that were holding us back.

Romeu departing seemed to get a mixed reaction, but while he was a worker, he was too slow, poor positional sense, man marking, often resorting to fouls after being caught out of position. Interestingly Ralph decided
Only a couple of weeks ago, he would be our box to box player Who also 'knows how to score goals'! So I'm guessing his demise was not Ralph's doing.

Stephens was a hard worker but awful mistakes, Valery an also ran too.
Bednerek : simply not good enough but appeared to be one of Ralph's favourites
Long . deserved a chance somewhere else
Tella. never shows full potential but doing well at Burnley
Smallbone . not quite good enough .
Redmond . finally
Walcott . soon I hope
Djenepo- Ralph's current favourite; in my opinion worst player in EPL

I wonder if the new coaching team hadn't come in whether Ralph would have a been picking the same dross week in week out!

Absolutely spot on South Hants Rich!

At the risk of incurring the wrath of almost every Saints fan, I will also add that JWP is holding us back. His contribution offensively (free kicks aside) is poor and his default setting is invariably sideways and backwards. He certainly does not come across as an authorative captain.

Why is it of all the star performers we’ve had in recent years, none of the big guns have come in for him like they have the others? For the sort of money we would want (£50 mil plus) he just doesn’t stamp his authority on a game consistently. Think of how Llallana used to change games…

Anyway, I shall await the barrage but for the avoidance of doubt, yes I would select him from the squad we have, but he certainly does not live up to his billing.

Millertime . the only reason I didn’t add JWP, was that I forgot. He will hold us back even more now we have a faster and more dynamic squad. As you say, he rarely looks for that killer pass, opting for the predictable one instead. Now the Romeu/JWP partnership has been broken, it would be a good time to start running down the clock on JWP. Interestingly, KWP has come out in the press and stated he wants to be captain one day …
As for Perraud, I really like him. When he had a run of games last season, he got better and better… so far he is not up to speed and his distribution has been poor.
