I don't know if they are just preparing just in case or if there is genuinely a chance of Bertrand going this summer, but I am told that Saints are very keen on Benfica's young left back Grimaldo. Celtic are also keen as a potential replacement if they lose Tierney.

Going to say, I doubt we'd sign anyone if we did sell him. We'd surely promote McQueen or Target.

I went dark for a while because I honestly felt I had nothing positive to add. Pretty much all that can be said about our beloved club and its demise has been said.
As a guest in one of the lavish boxes at Spurs on Sunday, it was so emotional to see the thousands of ‘Southampton ‘til I die’ fans cheering the players at the end. There was no where I’d rather have been than in the middle of those loyal fans. If only the players had that hunger and commitment.
I don’t know whether distance makes it any easier for you St John? The club is in an awful state, from top down. The last manager (there has to be a more appropriate title) was arguably the worst we’ve ever had. Who is held accountable for his appointment?
Trying to be optimistic (because that’s what we do as Saints fans) but I honestly don’t see any silver linings.
A mid-table finish in the Championship is the best we can hope for IMO.
Look at the talent, or lack thereof. With the odd exception, this is a squad who are devoid of passion, creativity and courage. They are used to being out muscled and out thought week in, week out and it doesn’t all of a sudden get better when you go down a division. I look at the likely squads some of our fellow posters predict and they all look bang average.
We need to regain that winning mentality, starting now.
Prediction for Saturday:
Southampton ‘so what’ - Aston Villa ‘whatever’
The rest of the season really is death by a thousand cuts.

Heh Millertime! -Thanks for confirming everything is sweet.Your recent invitation to the Tottenham boxes takes me back yesteryear to White Hart Lane boxes where I also enjoyed a memorable guest experience.In fact at full time one of my colleagues decided to seek out Keith Burkinshaw ( (Spurs Manager at the time) who he knew well from his previous Army days to catch up resulting in a few whiskies in Burkinshaw’s plush office whilst the press awaiting an interview were kept locked outside! Ah those were the days! With respect to today at least a few credible Managerial names being bandied about which will hopefully ignite Supporters interest in the Club and help lift the gloom from a very disappointing season. KOM.
