Surely we couldn't sell Che Adams now?

Still need a proven striker to support him.

Saints linked to Ethan Ampadu. definitely fits the brief of a versatile DC or DM and is still only 20 years old.

Manny561

1.) 17 Aug 2021 17:56:59
Yes please.

2.) 17 Aug 2021 18:08:27
Newcastle also looking at Ampadu.

3.) 17 Aug 2021 21:53:14
Come on Saints. This is the chance to prove we mean business. Pay the money, get it done.

4.) 18 Aug 2021 14:43:45
Sadly a loan is off the table for Ampadu as we can’t loan 2 from the same side (Chelsea) .

5.) 19 Aug 2021 07:56:33
We’ve only loaned one player from Chelsea?

6.) 19 Aug 2021 11:30:33
Correct, but you can’t loan 2 from the same club, so no more loans from Chelsea. Loans from other clubs would be ok.

{Ed002's Note - Only one more loan is possible.}

7.) 19 Aug 2021 12:32:56
Absolutely. A maximum of 2 loans allowed. So only one more which last year Ralph saved until Jan for Minimino.

{Ed002's Note - Two at any one time but a maximum of four (excepting exceptional circumstances over goalkeepers.}

30 Jul 2021 09:50:07
Thinking of our LB issue and with Man Utd's Williams looking out of sight - what about Sessegnon from Spurs? Or is he just another LW conversion like Djenepo?

Manny561

{Ed002's Note - Southampton have already signed Ryan Bertrand's replacement.}

1.) 30 Jul 2021 15:24:41
But Ralph still after a LB back, hence the Djenepo experiment. I wouldn’t want to risk him in a PL game.

15 Jul 2021 14:28:47
If Danny Ings was to go, who would fill that gap?
Abraham?

Manny561

{Ed002's Note - Adam Armstrong perhaps.}

1.) 15 Jul 2021 15:13:40
I see Armstrong as another Adams. Good player, after a prolific Championship season, may take a while to come good. Could he hit the ground running?

2.) 17 Jul 2021 16:23:31
Hi Ed’s, do you know if we made the 2nd bid for Armstrong? Lots of mixed reports. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I don’t know I am afraid.}

3.) 20 Jul 2021 12:43:26
no worries, thanks for replying anyway.

15 Jul 2021 11:55:33
A report in the Express says that if we were to sell Ings to Spurs, we could be interested in a player plus cash deal for either: Winks, Sessegnon or Skipp. I'd be happy with any of those, but on a permanent deal not a loan. Thoughts?

Manny561

1.) 15 Jul 2021 12:42:28
Add Rodon to that list too.

2.) 15 Jul 2021 13:20:46
Give us Winks, Skipp and Sessegnon and they can have Ings. If they want Vestergaard too give us another £25m so we can buy a striker and another defender. Don’t want to be doing any dealings with Levy though. Don’t like Tottenham the club and don’t like Levy. He’ll smarm his way into getting Ings for a used tissue off of our soft touch of a board.

3.) 15 Jul 2021 20:00:45
I don't think that Saints really want to do business with spurs at all after getting shafted over Hojberg.

So Stu Armstrong, Alcaraz and Kamaldeen all start today. That's what's a lot have asked for.

Let's see if that attacking intent addresses the 'passive' problems of the last few weeks.

1.) 30 Sep 2023 13:39:52
So far, so good! (Writing at half time)

Like the positive intent.

Best players on the pitch and 3-0 up in 30 minutes!

2.) 30 Sep 2023 14:49:27
When we move the ball forward quickly and use our pace we look a totally different team. When we start the possession game we look vulnerable, let’s hope RM will release pace every game.

3.) 30 Sep 2023 14:58:14
Agreed. Intent is there with the best players on the pitch.

For me the main difference was the mixing up the playing out from the back. Early on Bazunu putting long balls forward instead of the short passes to defenders. Also TBH hitting long balls too, looking for Kamaldeen. Worked a treat.

Let’s hope this is the template to follow and breeds some confidence back into the team.

Let’s go again for Stoke.

4.) 30 Sep 2023 16:47:48
Pace did it for us today. As soon as we reverted to possession only football we put ourselves under pressure. It is a move forward let’s hope RM continues to use pace because at championship level there’s no one better than Sulemana.

23 Sep 2023 14:36:32
Dare I say.a good starting line up for today?

KWP at LB
Holgate at RB
Shea at DM

Lots of quality from the bench.

Thoughts?

Manny561

1.) 23 Sep 2023 16:31:55
I still think that we'll lose. Should have Alcaraz on from the start and possibly Kamaldeen too

2.) 23 Sep 2023 17:25:04
Struggling to find any positives now. I’m all behind given someone time but I really don’t know.

Totally agree that Alcaraz and Kameldeen should be playing but I don’t see them day in day out on the training ground. I do think we have the players to do well in this league but it’s not working and that sits with the manager.

3.) 23 Sep 2023 18:29:50
I know we're onky 8 games in, but we don't even look like a team that was in the Premier League last season. Holgate is hopeless, robbed for first goal, we just don't look like a team that wants it enough. RM appears to have his favourites (Manning, Smallbone, Edozie) but we have better players sitting on the bench for 60 mins each game and there's no plan b!

4.) 23 Sep 2023 19:58:00
“We just don’t look like a team who wants it enough”

Of all our problems that is the most worrying.

You’re spot on Fat Saint - just look at how they trudge off the pitch - barely any emotion.

No confidence, no bottle, no hope

I fully understand the buy young and sell at a profit policy. It makes perfect financial sense for a club like us to try to operate on that regenerated income.

But.

It come a time when things have to happen now, not in 2-3 years when these players reach/show real potential. We desperately need PL (or similar league) experienced players. Young players can't learn from other young players.

We've missed out on some reasonably priced PL quality players, with Ben Mee being my personal disappointment.

We've bought some youth in, but now please not let us look for the next Ings, Iheanacho, Winks etc - just go and get them in, we need them now!

Manny561

1.) 16 Aug 2022 13:54:33
Very well put Manny561. Desperately need a proven striker . Soon as.

2.) 16 Aug 2022 16:12:59
After listening to the fans forum last week, I'm not sure its experience we need. It's leadership. Obviously, the players who show the best leadership qualities are generally more experienced. We a few players who can help the youngsters develop and learn and lead them on the pitch. This is what we had with Fonte, and look at his track record of who he's played with: VVD, Alderweireld, who he helped develop. And the latest defender being Botman.

3.) 16 Aug 2022 16:13:14
Just seen Romeu linked to a move away. He is one of our most experienced PL players, so that would have to be replaced.

If he does go, please bring in Harry Winks not another kid from a big 6 club. We need experience.

4.) 16 Aug 2022 18:10:29
Saintjay - I see your point. We do lack leadership on the pitch. Again I was disappointed Ben Mee didn’t get snapped up. Experienced PL Captain - no brainer.

We probably lost our leadership. when Hojberg left. Who is out there that could a job for us?

5.) 16 Aug 2022 20:31:36
I think the only leader is JWP, but his leadership comes from how be performs on the pitch and not egging the team on. I think Bazunu could become that player, but I think he needs a leader in defence to give him confidence.

I'm not too sure if there are many leaders in our squad or even in the league.

Mee/Tarkowski/Coady would've been exactly what we needed.

13 Aug 2022 16:34:04
Ralph says we need an attacking threat from midfield and doesn't play Aribo, the guy he bought specifically for that?! I don't know.

Manny561

1.) 13 Aug 2022 16:59:10
And then he scores nearly straight away….

2.) 13 Aug 2022 17:15:06
Ruben SELLES and the other.Coaches gathered around Ralph as Saints trailed and almost demanded and insisting on a much more attacking necessary change (. pressuring Ralph somewhat) but I think I know who is going to take the credit for it!

3.) 13 Aug 2022 17:27:58
It certainly wasn’t Ralph asking for advice! He never does!

4.) 13 Aug 2022 17:31:27
Maybe they have to step up more? Challenge Ralph in his decision making.

No point having a bench full of yes men!

5.) 13 Aug 2022 18:00:56
No doubt he will be hailed as a tactical genius for turning it around, but people will fail to notice he turned around his own mistake, by doing what he should have done in the first place. We should have gone 4222 at home!

The back 5/3 isn’t really working and to actually play that defensive at home against a so called relegation candidate shows his mentality. A back 5 against the big boys could be excused but not (no disrespect) Leeds.

6.) 13 Aug 2022 18:13:56
Ralphism . believing in your own hype when no one around you falls for it!

10 Aug 2022 18:07:07
Whats going on with Che Adams? Has he done something wrong? Has he called Ralph out in training and now he's being moved on?

Seen him linked to Leeds and now Everton!?

We better have a superstar up our sleeve or the fans are going to kick off big time!

Manny561

1.) 11 Aug 2022 01:08:04
There have been many players that have questioned Ralph, confronted Ralph . disagreed with Ralph . Bertrand was benched over it . Ingsy left without a word for Ralph … Adams I’m guessing is now
Added to that list …
To let a player go because they called out Ralph is bizarre. While I fully understand you have to have respect for your manger, you also have to be able to give your opinion… Ralph ‘my way or highway’
Has been given too much power.
Professional footballers have every right to have an opinion. keep Ralph or Che … Only one winner! By letting Che go, they are adding to Ralph’s power!

I’m starting to believe the new owners have their eye on the parachute payment . cynical I know . but true

2.) 11 Aug 2022 02:01:24
Should this recent debacle regarding Che Adams prove to be the result of Personal grievance from HASSENHUTTL then the majority of SFC supporters (who are far bigger than the Football Club)should consider taking some action at the turnstiles if the ‘Decision Makers’ continue to blatently ignore the ever increasing littany of disastrous actions ( both on and off the pitch) by this Manager.and move him on as quickly as possible.

3.) 11 Aug 2022 11:17:45
A fan asked the panel in the fans forum this question last night about the Che rumours, Semmens asked where he heard the rumours from and the fan saind twitter and the panel started laughing. Semmens stated that the Che rumours are rubbish. He isn't going anywhere apparently.

Looks like we are done. Some good names still going around, McKennie, Minimino and Barclay. Any bets on Saints pulling something out of the hat late?

Great signing!
I’m sure somebody mentioned before, but thinking about the reasons behind playing Tino ahead of KWP in the first two games may have been a Ralph’s statement to him that Saints will play young players in the PL - so sign the contract!

Don’t get me wrong, this result has to backed up against Stoke and beyond.

There were better signs of intent and the passing was noticeably more direct in the first half. Hopefully when they analyse the game this will be glaringly obvious (it was to us! ) and the good performance and intent in the first half will be taken forward. We did retreat a lot in the second half, but that’s probably down to confidence issues and not wanting to throw it away.

Let’s go again, build on this and climb that table.

I really hope we have some negotiations on going at the moment. This player Kaladzic is something different/special. He can hold up play and that was missing until Che came on at Leicester.

Dare I say, he looks like a Pelle type player, and that turned out well.

Please invest!

Also being fickle means to frequently change your loyalties or affections. My loyalty and affections are to the club and that is not in question.
