Well done and another win the only downside this week is the Ross Stewart situation, I just hope that we don't buy another striker in a panic, one I would quite like is Baily Cadamatari who is a young lad but shows a lot of potential

Where was Ross Stewart tonight not even on the bench, have we bought another dud and if so do we go again in the transfer window, as for the game our lack of a second goal left us vulnerable as previously, whilst our league position is good it could be so much better if we had won games rather than draw ie Rotherham and Huddersfield, if we do go again in the window who will leave to make room in the squad

Let's give Russell Martin a chance, at this stage it is unclear what players will be coming and going I feel that we need a real leader to replace JWP who despite being a good player was not the leader from the front that we need also can anyone shed any light on Saluso position as he seemed to have disappeared last season

I believe it was because of his attitude. I could be wrong don't shoot me

One look at Salisu's social media will tell you that he has become the Insta man . posing in bling . posing in very expensive outfits . posing full stop . I also know that his social life became even more important than football, arriving home from partying in london at about 7am on a Saturday morning . yes we were playing that day! And he was sluggish and rubbish!

It’s like Obefemi (spelling) huge problems with his discipline . including staying out in southampton way beyond the times he was supposed to be, being late often .
Southampton are excellent at looking after the personal development of young players .
Starting with a ‘foster’ family, sometimes with another player there.
Once they had shown discipline, respect .! including cleanliness, time keeping . they are allowed to move in with other players, mostly close to or near the training ground .
Then the next stage is to be able to move to (often) ocean village, where they can live alone or with other player.
guess what … even when Obefemi was in the first team, he still lived with a family! Says it all .

Go check out lyanco social media .
Family . football . god!
No bling ., no rubbish .

Further to recent reports I truly hope that SFC have learned from their recent transfer market catastrophes. Now with significant funds expected from Player exits plus the Leagues parachute payment Saints have ONE MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY to acquire TOP QUALITY PLAYERS and (OVERLOOK VERY ORDINARY BENCH WARMERS) in OUR quest to assemble a team capable of shaking up the Championship and potentially Premiership capable. With some good Players retained plus a host of YOUNG PRODIGIES champing at the bit I am convinced. that a squad filled with a far. better attitude and effort than last season combined with improved Coaching under the stewardship of Russell Martin the SFC future could be bright indeed.

{Ed001's Note - come on man, don't hijack a thread with a completely unrelated subject. This is not the place for it, it should have its own thread if you want to discuss it.}

5.) 25 Jul 2023 07:27:02
Apologies-Iwas showing my admiration and support for Saints Football Legend Matt Letissier-man.

{Ed001's Note - not a problem but it is just not the right thread for it. It is a completely separate topic. And it is too fractious a topic to really be able to just meld in together without causing issues. It really needs its own thread.}

6.) 27 Jul 2023 07:47:49
In retrospect I agree with you.

Well done for getting a point today, outstanding performances from Bazuna and the defence, however scoring still seems to be the issue despite playing against 10 men for most of the game,if we can survive this season. this team with an additional striker could do very well

Good performance today against Man UTD, very unlucky not to get a penalty for handball and maybe substitutions made a bit too late, otherwise I was very impressed with the team who all worked really well and once they click we should enjoy some decent results

Is we had a prolific striker we definitely would have won that game today. I hope we look at that game and think if we can get a serial goal scorer in the side then we could quickly rise up the table.

The last part of the jigsaw, so come on saints I know this will cost a big sum to get that striker but let’s do it now to make the most of all the other good signings we have made so far

{Ed014's Note - you were by far the better team Ben and you just needed a few of the many chances to come off.

2.) 28 Aug 2022 07:25:12
Well played Saints-agree with both Norfolk and Ben everyone played to their full potential with effort and deserved at least a point. To improve and progress further (to be critical) we definitely need a swift fast thinking attacking midfielder in place of Elyounoussis/S Armstrong,a lively. free scoring c/forward to support Che with Armo on the left and super sub Mara champing at the bit on the bench.Time is fast approaching when a possible upgrade willl be necessary on Ward-Prowse who sometimes appears half a yard too slow these days.Meanwhile Ralph keep listening to your Coaches and miracles may happen!

3.) 29 Aug 2022 16:28:01
Looks like Wolves have got Kalajdzic, Delap went to Stoke, Hudson-Odoi off to Germany and apparently Belotti, Gakpo and Ramon have all said no.
If we're getting a striker / AM it looks like it must be another under the radar job.

Not a big fan of Lallana coming back, it could be another Theo Walcott situation which cist a lot in wages for very little return

Norfolk Saint

1.) 17 Jun 2024 03:03:44
Although I was initially disappointed at a possible Adam Lallana return, in retrospect with his undoubted skill and experience he could be a very shrewd signing for the squad and likewise Ghoddo from Brentford (with both on a free) With 2 quality c/b’s ( an upgrade on Bednarek) plus keeper full backs, DOWNES, quality Mids and Strikers (top grade), Russell Martin seems to be cautiously building a strong team/squad - exciting times ahead! ( Hopefully)!

2.) 18 Jun 2024 06:38:32
So you basically think SR are going to fund a complete new team. On Lallana he could prove to be a good backup to Downes, if we manage to sign him.

3.) 18 Jun 2024 09:26:01
I would rather 4-5 experienced players on a loan/free and 4-5 key signings at 15 to 25m, rather than 10 unproven at 8m

We need players who can hit the ground running and do not need time to adjust like Mara, Edozie, Orsic, Charles.

Also looking at Romania and Slovakia's big wins yesterday, players with team spirit, fight and heart

27 May 2024 12:41:23
Great day out yesterday but the job now starts to assemble a team for next season, priorities include a new goalkeeper , signing the loanees that we want to keep and getting all this done sooner rather than later, too many seasons we start off slowly and this time we need to be on top form from day 1

I think that I am right in thinking that against the top 3 teams this season we have gained exactly nil points couple this with cup defeats to firstly div 2 side Gillingham and then FA cup defeat to Liverpool reserves and it leads me to one conclusion , new management needed NOW

Norfolk Saint

1.) 26 Apr 2024 10:31:31
What kind of manager is available and will join a championship team.

I mean Tuchel could turn us around as he is definitely a premier league manager not a championship one but why would he join us lol.

Any other managers?

23 Apr 2024 22:28:34
Well tonight's result shoes just how far we are from being good enough, whilst Bazuna is at best an average keeper Mccarthy is and always has been an absolute liability and once again our powder puff attack is firing blanks with not even 1 shot on target, our tactics are so slow and predictable with no plan B.I think this season has shown that with a manager who is unwilling to adjust the team to match the situations in games coupled with ineffective strikers and underwhelming defence we can not look forward with much hope .Tha solutions incude a new management team, signing Flynn Downes with a new top class striker and goalkeeper

Most disappointed to see Charley Alcarez go out on loan, in my opinion one of the best young talents we have had at the club for a very long time, let's hope that this does not affect our season and that the Management know what they are doing

I agree with south hants Rich although I think we could have used five subs with it being a cup game,l wish we had started with Che Adams instead of Adam Armstrong, not sure about Broja he seems to have lost his spark at the moment, happens a lot with young players who start to believe all the publicity around them

Totalling agree Hopi back to winning ways next week, also a good looking cup draw it would be great to have a decent cup run this season.
