I posted just now but having read all the posts on this site I am thoroughly depressed. Last year we had good reason to be worried and while there were a lot of fans being extremely negative you could understand it. This year we have a proven manager and still have a significant number of good players for RoKo to work with. We were bottom of division 3 (old money) and The Liebherrs saved us. We could be doing just like Pompey right now but no we have a Europa League spot. The tripe on these forums is so negative it is embarrassing. I am going to post this and pack up posting and coming to the site. If we won the champions league it would be the same. In fact maybe supporting Bournemouth would be a better option.

You'll be back. How can people's comments make you want to pack it in. Your an adult. If things like this upset you.then what was you like when we was in Division three?(old money) And your still here!

Sorry to hear you feel that way Ronrulesok, but I suppose I can see why some posters have turned to pessimism because there was a genuine optimism that players were going to stay or deals were going to be done and another season of key players leaving and no sign of adequate replacements, people are possibly getting a little nervy (can't speak for others of course).

I think we all want what's best for Saints and that is to improve, and sometimes teams have to evolve to improve, but with more key changes this season who's to say we will pull it off again.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion.
Good luck getting a ticket at AFC Bournemouth

I think losing Morgan is going to be the difference this year, he is the heart of our team and held things together when we lost the others last year. Call me pessimistic but I think we will struggle this year, especially without Toby as well. I don't think we will get relegated but we certainly won't equal or better our position from last year.

I agree if you look back from our position a few years ago the club has risen spectacularly and I just think everyone [including myself] is just waiting / expecting for the bubble to burst and us to settle into mid-table mediocrity. Nobody wants it, just expects it. It will be like that until our global brand increases and we can compete with the best without harming our financial security.

On the other hand, Juanmi looks like a great signing and a hopefully rejuvenated JRod will fire some life into our attack.

Hi Fellow Fans, I like the rest of you would like to figure out what has changed for the worse. RoKo got Manager of the Month in Feb and we were back in the frame. Then Fraser Foster, that keeper many continued to knock, got injured v Burnley. At that point we had conceded 19 goals in 30 matches. Six games later won 1 draw 1 lost four conceded a total of 11 goals in 6 games last 5 two per game. I think Forster was a massive loss - for his clean sheets etc and the confidence he gave the back 4. Over the past couple of months Clyne has stopped being the marauding wing back and hardly broken into a trot or sweat. He should be careful because Van Gaal will have noticed this. Bertrand has played much better but still is not like before Xmas. Wanyama and Schneiderlin have hardly played a game together and both have not been themselves. Most of this is down to the speculation about their futures. Alderweireld has not been regularly in the back 4 and Jose and he were brilliant until the Forster injury. Tadic who was brilliant until nov has clearly got a big injury no one has admitted to and his creativity has been missing since November. Our forwards certainly need some restructuring. I think they can all contribute in the right environment but a Charlie Austin type might be the answer. We have had a great season even if we lose the last 2 and Swansea get past us. It is such a shame this has happened and I think although I have named a number of individuals the TEAM is not the team it was. I think the key problem is the loss of Fraser Forster and the fact that we have played teams who are far hungrier than we are right now. Keep the faith and I am sure Roko and the board will fix things in the summer and give us an even better season next year.

I think the squad is fatigued and not in the right mind set. Forster was a huge loss as he usually pulls off a big save at least once or twice a game in which Gazza and Davis haven't done. The sooner the season ends the better, opportunity to sort the squad and add much needed depth in Midfield.

Well here we go again. I'm just as disppointed with our drop off. We don't look so solid any more those barracking Fraser Forster should note. Also note Clyne has gone absent since England callup and Manchester United tap up. No more runs and crosses nothing like early season. Morgan when playing has been ho hum since Xmas. Tadic has been carrying a groin strain since his first international break last year. You may disagree but look at the games carefully.
There are a bunch of you who wouldlove to be in Pompeys position. Fans Get to pick the team every week and hire and fire managers and what a pigs ear they are making of it. We have a good owner, board and manager who will address much of this next year. I have bought my ticket and can't wait. Just hope we can keep ahead of swansea

I think Clyne's off mainly due to his body language. When JWP got his red card, NC pulled his socks up and walked back to the edge of the box whilst Toby, Fonte, Yos were doing their nut at the ref. Just an observation that made me think 'he ain't staying'.

First season with Koeman and hasn't he done well Far far too many so called supporters moaning and ctiticising the team. It's sad to see and unwarranted after the upheaval before the start of the season. Don't these doughnuts understand that teams at the bottom are fighting for premier survival and will pose more danger than teams that are already safe and nothing to play for. Look at our neighbours Pompey getting over 17000 at their last home game and show more support for their team even though they are in the 2nd division. It hurts me to say this but they have supporters that show more loyalty to their club than ours. STOP this insane criticism and get behind them and pack St Mary's to the rafters in our last home game and give them the support they deserve. COYR's

Well the results this week really worked for us. Except for spuds where a draw would have been best - we are back in third a point clear. Great result v QPR - lady luck smiling on us for a change. Please everyone can we get off the backs of players who aren't quite doing it right now. Pelle has been great most of the season, he is still running further than most others and is really trying hard. His hold up play is still good although the goals have dried up. let's sing his name on Wednesday and try to motivate him to start scoring again. Tadic, I am sure is carrying an injury he just hasn't got that freedom of movement he had but he will come good again and Forster saved our butts this time. Mane is another we get mixed input on but let's face it he is getting goals. And finally Yoshie was man of the match after all the grief we have given him in the past. Time to really support them all -they have done us proud this season. Regardless of what happens from now.

Great News Prowsey signing for 5 1/2 years. This guy in signing on for a long contract and saying why he did is a great example of some loyalty at last. Will send a huge message to other academy hopefuls and one to our 1st team in general. As Koeman says great professional.

after a couple of upbeat months old qwerty is back to normal. The goalkeeper is a good temporary for Forster, Clyne was definitely not the same player in the second half of the season( I could actually understand why woy left him out last time) and Cedric looks pretty useful. And I am not sure you know as much about the centre half position as RoKo. I think we might find we are lumbered with Toby again. Come on qwerty we have a couple of great young prospects we have got rid of the rotten apple albeit at great cost(a pochettino cockup) and a player who doesn't want to be here has left a space for one that does. I cannot wait for JayRod and the rest to get started.

We will see how much we will miss him when he gets booked against Villa. Its a pity that it will against one of the so called big teams. I agree with a number of above comments - if only he would keep his mouth shut when he goes on international duty. Maybe he is trying to sound as though he wants a big club to help his French team ambition. Maybe to keep Spuds and Arse interested. I am sure Ronald will smack him when he gets back and Roko will solve the problem if he goes or if he stays. The one thing you can be sure of Roko and Irwin will still be with us in the Summer and that is what is most important.

I agree St Martin. The positives here are he is talking about the summer not January and the money we would get for him certainly £25m plus would be enough to buy Jordie Classie, a Koeman favourite, and still bank £10m. let's keep enjoying what we have while we have it and trust the board to do the right things.

We could do a lot worse than bring Nathan home from Swansea. A flying scoring right winger and now probably worth £30m in today's money

Come guys last year it was the same whinging about the board ambition etc etc. Can you not after having shown to you by results trust our management to get it right, There will be the odd cockup on the way. Maybe we could have got Toby but Yoshie and Gardos are good alternatives and Gardos is only 23. let's try and support the efforts that for obvious reasons cannot be broadcast. We got Mane last year and what a result that was. Noone aw it coming and it is because we do not deal through the media

After watching Tobys free kick I think he is the man for free kicks and penalties JwP seems to be getting worse with free kicks and Dusan seems short on confidence for pens.
Tadic did have a much better game yesterday

If Pelle ain't good enough how come we are still 4th even with our three best players knackered. What will it take for you guys to get behind the players we have and enjoy the rest of the season - we aren't going down and we have 15 games left to see how well we can do

I agree with that. I thought Harry Kane would have been good to get in summer but they would have wanted spider.
I reckon on balance we will probably have to let Jrod go and get Kane plus some cash I am very nervous that Jrod won't ever recover fully from the injury. His game is too flat out to have any dodgy parts. Its a pity because he really was turning into a great player.

Well guys Xavi has just included Fraser in his team of best english champions league players. This is based on 4 games he played against celtic for Barca. He said Fraser made a number of saves that were the best he has ever seen. Now I agree we are all entitled to an opinion and this is a banter page. I do however think someone of Xavis standing who has actually played on the same field saying this carries a wee bit of weight. Another 4 clean sheets coming up for sure!
