I was at the Espanyol game yesterday and have to say I was impressed with Caulkers debut. Nobody seems to have mentioned him yet so not sure if I missed something as I took my 2 year old for his first game. From what I saw Caulker won basically everything in the air and stayed calm in possession. My boy however was most impressed with Sammy and the planes overhead, he also tried to invade the pitch. So proud!

Who would you all like to see in preseason friendlys then? Could do with our usual big European team coming to St Marys, maybe Athletico could come and have a play off to see who keeps Toby. I would also like to see some other experienced European team like Cluj or Sparta Prague. Then bring on Ballmouth!

Think were going to austria for redbull tournament probably as part of the deal with mane the to holland to play (can't remember) then fyenoord.then were probably playing qualifiers witch is going to be against a seeded better quality teams.from wot keoman was saying in echo

well for the first round we are seeded but the second depends on the other teams that get through, if there are a few upsets then we could be seeded for both but if it's as expected then we won't be seeded for the final qualifier.

So what friendly games would we like to see pre season then?
I would like the other big south coast clubs to join the memorial cup, (Brighton and Bournemouth of course)
We usually have a big (ish) European team visit St Marys and I think one of the big German sides would be a good test. Think we should also have a confidence game and take on the mighty Eastleigh or Gosport Borough. Any thoughts my fellow Saints?
1.) I would like to see us challenge someone like schalke, I know we aren't as good as them but it will be a great game for the lads to have under their belt

Don't think so. This is for the first team squad, not for Saints juniors!
3.) Personally I would like the following:
UK:
Eastleigh
Brighton
Celtic
European:
Ajax
Malaga
Dortmund
(in that order. getting increasingly more challenging)
4.) I'd like Arsenal to come back and try to retain the Memorial cup and then a European side possibly Espanyol would be nice.
As for normal friendly matches I'd like us to play Ajax again as I reckon we could beat them this time around. Also think the team should go away to a retreat in a place similar to the area in France where they did last time as they clearly was good for the team in getting them used to working together as it prepared us very well for the friendlies we had back in England.
5.) My big south coast team comment was purely a stab at the skates fella.
6.) Arsenal. Celtic. B Dortmund. Espanyol. Juventus. Don't want much lol.
7.) Southampton, brighton and bournmouth I think that would be a great idea 3 small clubs of equal ability playing with each other' good crowds as well at least 4000 keep shooting your self's in the foot you lot lol

well your oblivously a person then seeing as we get around 30 000 fans at home games and you do know that saints, brighton and bournemouth are 2 and 3 leagues above you lol
12.) Love it when these plums come on and get all upset about the rumers. Yeah most is rubbish but I think you'll find that the real fans don't want to replace the whole team! We love our players! Even the poor ones!

I heard city had been looking to help fill the British player quota with a bid for JWP. I reckon he has enough about him to know he's bettet off staying for few years. Also City ruin English talent eg Sinclair and Rodwell.
Couldn't really begrudge him going could we. If anyone turned into a Lambert hater for this move then I would question there saints knowledge. The guy has been an absolute hero for us and going to his boyhood team would be the icing on his fairy tale career cake. Obviously I don't want him to go but all the best if he does. Just please don't score against us Mr Lambert Sir.
Some papers reporting Poch has been offered a 300% payrise if he stays. Not saying I believe anything in the papers but just saying.

Ok here goes.
Number of games. probably 35 ish.
Not many away days, Riverside and Wembley for the JPT final.
First match - 6-3 win over Utd in 96, What a way to start.
Favorite match is the same but if I had to pick another it would be Saints V Sheff Utd win in '08 to stay in the Championship.
Other Historic games - Saints V Wimbledon at the Dell with Bridge and Pahars scoring some great goals.
Fav player other than Le Tiss. Pahars and Big Claus.
Fav current player - Has to be Ings.
Trivia - I'm a Saint living behind enemy lines in Portsmouth so that's fun.
