In retrospect I agree with you.

Apologies-Iwas showing my admiration and support for Saints Football Legend Matt Letissier-man.

{Ed001's Note - not a problem but it is just not the right thread for it. It is a completely separate topic. And it is too fractious a topic to really be able to just meld in together without causing issues. It really needs its own thread.}

{Ed001's Note - come on man, don't hijack a thread with a completely unrelated subject. This is not the place for it, it should have its own thread if you want to discuss it.}

Further to recent reports I truly hope that SFC have learned from their recent transfer market catastrophes.Now with significant funds expected from Player exits plus the Leagues parachute payment Saints have ONE MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY to acquire TOP QUALITY PLAYERS and (OVERLOOK VERY ORDINARY BENCH WARMERS) in OUR quest to assemble a team capable of shaking up the Championship and potentially Premiership capable.With some good Players retained plus a host of YOUNG PRODIGIES champing at the bit I am convinced. that a squad filled with a far. better attitude and effort than last season combined with improved Coaching under the stewardship of Russell Martin the SFC future could be bright indeed.

teejaysaint - Jesse would be a substantial upgrade for us but reports indicate that the USA National Team are very interested in recruiting him as Head Coach.Saints would have to be super quick with a sweet offer to capture him now!

I was going to withhold my opinion until. after the ‘dealins done’but to date II believe Saint GGsy you’ just about nailed it.! .RM continue to tread. very carefully.with plenty of quality option still aavailable .With SFC previous transfer history it wiould’t surprise me if the cheaper midfield option of Calllum O’Hare in lieu of. O’Reilly was not pursued.Wood / Edwards twogood young defenders alongside TBH.With several signings still required RM many well defer 1. or 2 until Jan. to re-assess requirements if he believes he can avoid collateral damage until then.!

Although I was initially disappointed at a possible Adam Lallana return, in retrospect with his undoubted skill and experience he could be a very shrewd signing for the squad and likewise Ghoddo from Brentford (with both on a free) With 2 quality c/b’s ( an upgrade on Bednarek) plus keeper full backs, DOWNES, quality Mids and Strikers (top grade), Russell Martin seems to be cautiously building a strong team/squad - exciting times ahead! ( Hopefully)!

It’s almost a blank canvas presented for Saints rebuild.Some very interesting names are being bandied about (and seemingly cash not a restriction) I only hope we take full advantage and don’t go down previous rabbit holes.It makes me quite nervous reading reports of interest in two ageing ex SFC players who have had their day in the Sun and both spent recent times either injured or bench warmers for teams we should be challenging next season.Russell Martin has the perfect opportunity to sign young and energetic quality players who can drive us up the EPL.

A BRILLIANT result!,! Well Done to Russell Martin and Coaching Crew, all the PLAYERS AND SUPPORTERS for their successful achievement. As a past critic of RM on occasions, congratulations to him are now the order of the day especially for recently and gradually adopting a more flexible plan (perhaps us posters comments have been noted)! which has resulted in better outcomes. BRILLIANT! THE REBUILD STARTS NOW! P.S HAPPY 40th lesleee.!

Hey Millertime enjoyed your lateral. Comparison but until now I. had always seen a likeness of RM to Popeye’s adversary BLUTO!
