In retrospect I agree with you.

Apologies-Iwas showing my admiration and support for Saints Football Legend Matt Letissier-man.

{Ed001's Note - not a problem but it is just not the right thread for it. It is a completely separate topic. And it is too fractious a topic to really be able to just meld in together without causing issues. It really needs its own thread.}

{Ed001's Note - come on man, don't hijack a thread with a completely unrelated subject. This is not the place for it, it should have its own thread if you want to discuss it.}

Further to recent reports I truly hope that SFC have learned from their recent transfer market catastrophes.Now with significant funds expected from Player exits plus the Leagues parachute payment Saints have ONE MASSIVE OPPORTUNITY to acquire TOP QUALITY PLAYERS and (OVERLOOK VERY ORDINARY BENCH WARMERS) in OUR quest to assemble a team capable of shaking up the Championship and potentially Premiership capable.With some good Players retained plus a host of YOUNG PRODIGIES champing at the bit I am convinced. that a squad filled with a far. better attitude and effort than last season combined with improved Coaching under the stewardship of Russell Martin the SFC future could be bright indeed.

teejaysaint - Jesse would be a substantial upgrade for us but reports indicate that the USA National Team are very interested in recruiting him as Head Coach.Saints would have to be super quick with a sweet offer to capture him now!

After recent team improvements fresulting from RM’s”on the job learning” (and useful advice probably gleaned from several posters) it is a severe body blow not being able to account for a lowly positioned team forced to make 5 changes from their last game.Saints performance emphasises the gap in experience and guile between RM and the likes of Carlos Corberan (WBA) ;Daniel Farke (Leeds Utd) and aa few other Championship Managers who may qualify for the “play offs”with a distinct advantage over us on a neutral ground should we qualify.

Re: Adams-exactly why I listed a question mark against his name. Re: KWP-exactly why I oblique'd against his name citing Spence as an alternative.With regards Archer I have since read. reports that he will probably prefer Sheffield. Utd. Re:McAfee-Ihonestly don’t know but all players mentioned were at some stage reportedly linked with SFC and available on the. open market.

The cards.appear to be falling favourably in the right places at the moment with exciting possible incomings becoming available (which could all change by Sept.1).that could transform us into a very exciting outfit if the right choices are made.A list including possible reported incomings interspersed with our own Players (at the time of writing) .I guess this is what defines the best managers being able to foresee and select the best x1 to combat various opposition.My squad of preference would be;Bazunu/? Manning/Larios, KWP/Spence Wood (Swansea) Harwood-Bellis (Man.City) Stephens, Charles, DOWNES Alcaraz, Amo-Ameyaw, Smallbone, Johann Hove ( Groningen) McAtee (Man City) Cameron Archer (Villa) Joel Pirou (Swansea), A Armstrong Che Adams (? ) Tella (? ) Edozie, S Armstrong. KOM.

Although probably swimming against the tide of opinions posted, I am inclined to reserve judgement on Our Manager for at least 2/3 months allowing for future incoming signings and the Team as a whole bedded in the foundation of their completely new system.No one can expect immediate results at this very early stage although the signs are easier on the eye from last season.Hopefully with the signings of quality Mids, Centre Backs, Goalkeeper and clinical Centre Forward (with or without Adams) we have the makings of a good side.I noted after watching the first half of Arsenal v Ntm.Forest that RM’s playing out from the back and moving the opposition around to create spaces is not dissimilar to that of Arsenal (although obviously we don’t have the same quality of Players) we could be pleasantly surprised with the outcome further down the track when the system is well embedded and with the required additional Players required.We must remember that the Players are being asked to adapt to a 100% u turn in methods from last season whereas most opposition teams in the Championship are continuing with their tried and tested formations of last season and before. From my observations it appears most of the Players enjoy Russell Martin’s tactical training and his persona.This post is not in opposition to any previous posts regarding the Managerial aspects but my own personal assessment of the current situation and future possibilities.KEEP ON MARCHING!

south hants rich kudos for an accurate and relevant response re the JWP saga but as we are a democracy (for the time being at least) we will always encounter opposing views-I only hope no WHU Board Member Spies don’t get to read our 3 posts because we might “Kill A Potential Sale”.With regards to Stuart Armstrong perhaps he could play a similar role to Steven Davis? Great to hear from you Millertime! .I’m sure after the window closes (AND THE DEALIN’S DONE) SFC will have much more direction towards Team selection whilst RM recovers with a lie down following this nightmare scenario period and we can all strap ourselves in for an exciting ride ahead this season! AllThe Very Best to you and SHR.
