Ed. Is there a possibility that in the upcoming England under 21 and under 19, we will have players in the 4 full back positions starting? With chambers captain? And is there a chance ward prowse could captain the under 21s? I personally think he is one of the top 5 England prospects. What are peoples views?

saintg

{Ed001's Note - there is every chance, in my opinion though Shaw and Ward Prowse are ready for the full team. I very much doubt a player from Southampton will get the nod, purely because they are playing for Southampton. It is not right, but we all know England favours the London clubs and the 'bigger' clubs over the rest. Unless Hodgson calls Shaw up to the full side, it would make sense for the full backs to be Southampton players, I don't see any better English prospects in those positions.}

1.) Other than Shaw as U21 LB and Chambers as U19 RB, who are the other 2? As Clyne is too old for the U21's now isn't he?

{Ed001's Note - it depends, any player eligible at the start of qualifying for a tournament is eligible until the tournament finishes. So you often get older players at U21 tournaments, because they were under 21 when qualifying for it started. I am not sure, but I thought Clyne was in that age group.}

2.) Lallana deserves a call up most out of anyone in our team for sure. Hope he gets picked will be something different for England

3.) Like Ed001 I believed Clyne was still eligible for the U21's. His dob is 05/04/1991, so by my reckoning he would be 22 at the start of this season - 23 in April.

Lawrenson has us to lose again. Any thoughts on that? As they created more chances at old Trafford.

i thought we were quality at OT and fully deserved our point. Also, our defence is so tight I don't see them getting 2 and us not scoring.

what do others think? Does ed 002 agree or any other eds with my assessment or lawros?

saintg

1.) I was just about to post something similar. He's always had a thing about us. I can't understand it. He has to lose or draw almost every match. Someone needs to tell him that his face looks like a melted wheely bin.

Can't stand the sour faced ****

2.) Lawrenson is a plum!
Has had it in for us for years!!
Sad old ####

3.) Why is lawrenson still on match of the day
he is way past his sell by date
as is hansen

4.) When Lawro hasn't a clue about a forecast about Southampton he uses a stock 'cut and paste' 2 - 1 loss scoreline.

5.) I love it when Lawro predicts a Saint loss as he's always wrong. When he does predict a saints victory we lose. He's more reliable than Paul the Octopus was. Keep it up Lawro, I hope he predicts we'll get relegated

Brilliant response ed 1 (current favourite ed haha)

Was wandering whether Chelsea are close to signing Willian. If so will others become available such as Moses or with luck kdb haha.

thanks again

saintg

{Ed001's Note - De Bruyne, no, Moses is injured but is available, Mikel is also potentially available.}

Hello ed. Was wondering if you could give your opinion on our transfer business so far? How do you feel about the players? Would you be happy with this at the start of the window?

Also, do you feel as though we'll be signing either a defender to let go of fox? Or an attacking player as we let puncheon go on loan? Or anyone else for that matter?

thanks in advance

saintg

{Ed001's Note - my personal opinion, as a neutral, is that you have done excellent business. You have strengthened the weak areas, but not brought in so many players the team is likely to struggle to gel together. Ok, you could probably do with a back up to Shaw at left back, but how many players of the level you need will join to cover a teenager? You are really forced to go with what you have there for now, Shaw is far too good to drop unless his form dips. In which case you can go get a left back in the following window. I also like that there are still chances for more of your youth to break in to the team, there has been no policy of buying a ready made player for every first team place and then buying a back up for everyone of them in case of injuries. The club have just targeted a few players who are better than the player that was already in the first 11. I really don't see there being anyone else joining, except maybe a player to replace Puncheon, though I think Isgrove will just move onto a permanent place on the bench, more than likely.}

1.) Very good analysis from ed001 there. Impressive insight into the club for a neutral and I agree 100%.

2.) Yeah, well done Ed001. Articulate and a better understanding of the club's policy than some of our own fans.

{Ed001's Note - thank you.}

3.) Totally agree Gazza. Thanks Ed.

4.) Totally agree with what has been said about Isgrove stepping up. From what I have seen so far of him I really think he will be a truly exciting prospect this season.
