The Times this morning says we're in for Frederik Sorensen, right sided centre back at Bologna (co-owned by Juve). One of my housemates is a Norwich fan, says they've been after him a while too.

SE5aints

1.) Saints have been interested in him for a while too, so the rumour could just be recycled. But hope it is true.

Saint Martin

2.) I would love for him to join us, be great for our options at the centre and at right back. Could be in need of left sided cover if Fox does go though.

3.) TV had also reported this too, so along with the rumoured sale of Danny Fox of £1m to Bolton, it seems to hold water

4.) We have been linked with him before, good cover and can play RB and also has a sweet left peg overall good all rounder and with Fox on the move he could cover. However I'm hearing reading are pushing a move for Fonte!

Chalkie the saint

5.) I would have thought he would go to Norwich with them having countrymen.

Isn't there a problem with part ownership?

6.) Lazy journalism. Clyne gets injured, link gets established. Chambers is adequate cover.

SE16 Saint.

7.) SE16 Sorensen is primarily a CB though. No one is suggesting he is being brought in just to cover RB.

He will be bought so we have 3 prem quality CBs (along with Lovren and Yoshida). But the added benefit is that IF NEEDED he can cover RB.

With Shaw injured, Clyne injured, Chambers unproven and Fox on his way out, we very much need to make sure we have adequate cover!

We're one injury (Chambers) away from having no fully fit fullbacks.

8.) There is part ownership. Apparently we were after him last season but couldn't sort out the ownership.

9.) Cork can play RB

10.) Shaw is match fit again, was training with the team today. Although Fox's move to Bolton will not happen until Sunday now so he can be available for West Brom if needed.

11.) Shaw still not fully fit. It's 50:50 if he will start on Saturday.

Stop quoting rubbish like "match fit". He's clearly not match fit, otherwise pochettino wouldn't say he 'hoped Shaw would be ready for Saturday'. That is not match fit. We're a bit of bad luck away from a fullback dilemma.

To my mind, there are a lot of ifs and buts when it comes to Ever Banega. He seems a great player, who could be commanding a higher fee; probably something like £16m. Why do we think we can get him, according to reports, for £10m? Why aren't the CL clubs after him? He's had disciplinary problems in the past. I wonder whether they persist. Maybe that's it. Maybe it's Valencia's ongoing financial quagmire.

It looks like they'll get near enough £26m for Soldado from Spurs. Do they need to offload another of their best players on the cheap? If Valencia try to replace him, as has been said this morning, with Javier Hernandez from United, I guess for approx £20m, maybe they do.

Honestly, I hope we do get him. I think it's worth the risk. If it doesn't work out, I can't see his value depreciating dramatically over the next couple of seasons.

I agree with a lot of people that we need another classy striker to challenge SRL and the youngens, but I don't see why we couldn't afford both a new AM in Banega and a goal scorer. Zenit are still odds on to get Damiao if he does leave Internacional, so don't hold your breath.

I'd say we're still talking to him, yeah. It is likely (is it, or am I totally naive?) the news coverage following his/his agent's rebuff of our personal terms made them think twice about what they're asking for. We know he was a real target, I'd find it weird if we just dropped it.

That said, we also know Cardiff have upped their bid and he (apparently) likes their terms, maybe they are content with paying what we consider to be above the odds.

Austin is probably going to Hull. Wanyama to Cardiff looks most likely, but I wouldn't mind seeing Victor in a Saints shirt if we could make it happen.

Most likely to Frankfurt. Chill.
