hi ed. I have recently seen carlos vela saying the door is open for him to move to any team in england. could you see saints possibly putting a bid in? also who do you think saints will be looking at in terms of cb?

1.) Which positions do u think are our prioritys?
{Ed002's Note - It depends entirely on folks leaving and what youth are ready.}
2.) Centre back is a priority only for backup. But I think strike is the main priority. For me I would sign Ings and vela or lukaku.
3.) No use in buying someone solely for back up - Yoshida is more than good enough for that and just gets moaned about, plus they'll only be a waste of wages in a couple of seasons and end in the same position as Hooiveld etc. Buy better than what we have and use what we have as back up - might be harsh on players that have played well but we need 18-20 quality players not 11 and some that will do
4.) I think we need a gk, cb, winger and a striker or 2
5.) What if fonte and lovren get injured. No offence but hooiveld is not premier league quality. So we do need at least one more centre back. Yoshida isn't actually bad at all.
6.) Hooiveld isn't good enough, full stop. New centre back and keeper are massive priorities. andros townsend apparently not wanted at spurs? Could be a cracking signing! Like puncheon but younger, faster amd a better attitude.
7.) Surely hooiveld will be leaving? ED 002

hearing that juventus want osvaldo for 7mil, well it could be bumped up to 10m juve! at least! come on!
1.) There's a French press interview with Spiderman who says that the transfer fee played on Osvaldo's mind, he never settled in Southampton or the Premiership, his training was far less intensive than the rest of his teammates (suggests that maybe Roma's / Serie A training wasn't as hi-intensity as Saints / Premiership) but that he was a good finisher. Problems in his head the more he didn't settle due to above listed 'problems' and therefore tried too hard to do 'clever' things rather than the simple ball each time.
2.) Excuses, he's not worth what we paid or even half of it. Bad buy especially when the manager had history with him. Should have known better. Our recent "big buys" simply haven't been good value while the academy players and less money purchases have all done brilliantly.

i hope saints' budget is good in the summer. we can't progress with not much money, I do think we need to bring in some real quality and top class players. thoughts? who should it be? what do you think the budget will be?
1.) Providing no one leaves we only a top CB, someone like Umtiti, Caulker or Toloi. Poyol is on a free too. Bring in Rugani/Romagnoli/Jedvaj aswell.
and a top 'keeper, is Valdes still on a free in the summer? Ter Stegen/Courtois are def out of our reach. Koval (D Kyiv) might be a good shout, heard we were looking at him
If Osvaldo doesn't go to juve and he's worked stuff out here, give him a chance, if not get Lukaku and Bertrand in exchange for Shaw

i think saints need a new gk in the summer. if it was me I would get a bargain on the mexico international ochoa who is out of contract in the summer and could be a real bargain. go ahaed and watch his youtube videos, he's great!
1.) I say no. Not good enough for the Premier League. He's not good enough at judging the flight of the ball in the air, and can't control his box well enough against strong players. Ligue 1 is about his level.
