he's been heavily linked with palace as well.

Apparently an 8 mil bid has been accepted from Palace. Decent player but I think we should look somewhere else if he'd cost 8 million. Personally I think another striker is needed to cover Jay Rod, until he's back from injury

Sharp's off to Sheff Utd apparently

Believable2 Unbelievable10

I take it your a utd fan then, apparently koeman thinks he's good enough for the bench and wants to give him till jan to prove himself, personally I can see him bagging a few poachers goals and staying here a while yet

Agree11 Disagree7

That is great news if true s1, where did you hear that?

Both Sharp and Mayuka have travelled with the team.

Agree1 Disagree1

Feel sorry for Sharp he was head hunted by Adkins 3 years ago and really had to think long and hard before he came here. He was also the main man that scored the vital goals that gained us promotion. He probably isn't good enough for the Prem. League but didn't they say that about SRL. He is a poacher so might be worth keeping him as a bench player and let's face it he must be better than Guly!

Agree4 Disagree2

Just what was floating round the training ground before they left

So Arsenal are finally being linked with chambers, but reports suggest gnabry could be used in the deal. I really rate gnabry, showed some real potential for arsenal.

Believable3 Unbelievable19

We really need to keep the players we have left and just replace the ones that have gone. We can't risk replacing every player we have with players that have no premier league experience

i find it strange that all the so called big clubs have not got a successful academy to bring young players through
so they go and buy other clubs youngsters
are these so called big managers that good
i think not

Not as much potential as Chambers.tell them to shove it.

As long as we don't lose clyne I feel this would be a good deal for us

So Brendan Rodgers is linked in the papers this morning with wanting to take Jay Rod. Wouldn't it of been easier for him to become the new Southampton Manager when Mopo left instead of trying to buy the whole Southampton team? In koeman we trust!

Agree23 Disagree1

We need to keep some of our academy graduates! Stop selling!

Agree14 Disagree0

Will end in him getting sack these players are good but not world class, which is what you need to win the prem,

Agree10 Disagree0

Just my point of view - but if academy players could not be traded until the last day of their 21st b-day year - then almost every club would have to develop academy players and it would stop agents confusing young players with the promise of much money and they would just focus on breaking into the 1st team and developing their game.

Agree14 Disagree3

Jay Rod gave me the same feeling I get while watching Gareth Bale and I don't see why he can't make it to that level. Just hope we don't sell yet and ask these players to stay for the season and see how many games lallana and shaw and srl get at these big clubs. Might be able to prove a point. As for the above post about the bigger teams and the academy's it really is a laugh when saints are churning out talent all the time and give the players a chance in the prem while they are rubbish at it even with all the cash they have. Would like to see Jwp step up his set pieces and practice on those quite a lot.

Agree6 Disagree4

I would be totally gutted if chambers went, but Clyne will want to make this season his. I personally prefer chambers over Clyne. But do saints really need two top class right backs.
Gnabry for me looks like a top player. Germany u21, and looks dangerous on the wing. I think if we managed to sign somebody like gnabry, it would be one of the best signings this summer. i'm happy either way, and let's hope koeman makes the right decision ( if this rumour is even true lol)
As for jrod, there is no way on earth saints could afford to sell a key player in an area we are struggling. He will defo be a saints player next season.

Agree6 Disagree3

Saintsmiff,

You yourself and every man and his dog, give me the impression that we only need 11 players. We DO need competition for every place, which means 22 players min, or those who are versatile ( eg Clyne left or right back) to slightly bring the nos down.
What is the point of Jos H if he isn't competition. Only Clyne and Chambers competed for ONE place last season. One place. I think that cannot remain the same for this year. Injuries will happen. Lallana got injured and Guly came on, for example, laughable! Koeman hopefully will fix this, We need 6 ish plus replacements for who goes/has gone minimum. If that can include some genuine competition already here, good. Pelle goesoff and Gallacher comes on is a crap scenario for me.

Agree12 Disagree0

Larry,
I don't want chambers to go, I rate him a lot. I just think it's not the worst rumour to have been linked with. Lb and rb don't change a lot in a game. Shaw shone last year but I don't think he was the reason behind us finishing 8th. We have two top rb, which is a good thing, but both know, at another mid table club, they would be playing regular football. I just really rate gnabry, it would be a brilliant signing if we bought him outright with no player exchange.
If it was me though, I would let chambers go, replace with another young rb to challenge Clyne, just to get our hands on gnabry. Just my opinion

Agree3 Disagree7

Larry1, I could not have put it better myself. We need depth of squad, but also quality in depth. RK's style is to mix it up, he's a tactician so we will be playing different systems and utilising different players for those systems.
I still feel we need at least 5 quality players to add that depth and we have the funds and scouting team to make this possibility a reality

Agree6 Disagree0

Saints will not sale Chambers END OF.

Agree8 Disagree3

Chambers is potentially a future England captain, Clyne is also a potential international player-both can't be kept happy.

Doubt this very much. Newcastle are poised to sign Daryl Janmaat freeing up Debuchy to move to arsenal. I highly doubt they would move for another right back aswell. Also I find it bvery hard to believe they would sell Gnabry considering his age and potential. If he is to move away from Arsenal this season a loan deal seems much more likely

Agree3 Disagree0

I would be very surprised if anyone that's in belgium with koeman now is leaving, apart from that baby lovren who will throw all his toys out and tip his pram over to get a move

Agree3 Disagree4

I personally think that selling Luke Shaw ( and I do wish him well ) is the best business any club will do this year. I know we don't really want foreign players but to get a full back with experience at least half the price has got to be the right thing to do. Could probably get Blind for 15 - 20 million to me that is just common sense, going to be a better player ( already is ) than Luke.

Agree3 Disagree3

Who cares, Koeman is a proper manager, been there done it.

Agree3 Disagree0

Shaws potential is insane.

Agree1 Disagree4

^ but so is £30-£34m for a teenager! My tuppence, for what its worth, is that I expect to see Clyne moving to LB and Chambers at RB. Targett to provide cover whilst developing.
