Southampton transfer list:

Astori
Solly
Verdu
Ince

Believable3 Unbelievable15

Ince seems very unlikely to me seeing as his dad is the boss and he placed a 20 million price tag on his son.

Solly is probably actually a decent shout. Richardson or Butterfield could well leave in the summer if not both.

Verdu is a top notch player but could be difficult to get and he is not the type of player we tend to sign given his age. Mainly seem to go for younger players.

Astori is possible but I'm not sure it's likely to be honest. I honestly think we won't get a new Centre back. We have Yoshida, Fonte, Hooiveld and Forren who will be considered by Pochettino to be up to the job and with Stephens coming through the youth system too. Not sure if we seriously can expect a new CB no matter how much we want one unless someone is sold (personally I think Hooiveld should be sold but still).

Agree7 Disagree8

Im not sure about verdu and ince, considerin the money we have and MPs knowledge of la liga i'd think he'd go for better and ince as his father is manager would only let him go for a ridicoulous price if we look abroad we can find much bettet talent in my view.

Agree8 Disagree3

I love the speculation and debate of who we are going to sign, instead of "can keep this player"! Poch knows exactly who he wants, they are going to be players who fit in perfectly with our style and better then we have already got, therefore we are going to be a better team next season and have got to at least aim for 8th and hopefully some silverware! Its great to be a saints fan! COYR!

Agree7 Disagree6

Solly omg your made I saw this when we were in lge 1! {Ed003's Note - Just to go back to the Ince thing his father made a flippant comment saying if Zaha can go for so much Thomas is worth far more,no price tag has been put on him plus the chairman decides who is sold or not and for what amount not the Father of a player.}

Agree1 Disagree2

Solly is a young, professing right back with talent. Think he is the perfect candidate as back up to Clyne. Not many will come to sit on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree3

I don't want to see Solly come I think he will add nothing.

Agree4 Disagree1

8th place and silverware, lol, deluded

Agree2 Disagree12

I'm really pleased that I support an ambitious club reknowned for playing entertaining football. Unlike 'deluded' above, who obviously supports a team so boring he has to come on our rumours page with truly pathetic and childish banter. Sad.

Agree9 Disagree1

I'm sorry but surely the reason this has come up again is because he is young and has improved as have we since league 1. I think he'd be a decent shout for back up to Clyne and he has got potential to improve as a player.

Agree1 Disagree1

Whoever you support doesn't mean you can't have an opinion, and my opinion is you are deluded and think you are better than you are, 8th place and silverware is ridiculous boast, not ambition, and this is not childish banter, it is my honest OPINION. Grow up sg, sad.

Agree0 Disagree6

Didn't say you can't have an opinion, just don't bore us with infantile and unoriginal banter on the rumours page. The post you originally referred to said 'aim' for 8th place which is most definitely ambition and not a ridiculous boast. It also said 'hopefully' silverware - is your team so bad that you have no hope. I applaud fans of other clubs who give their names (or at least mention who they support) and make constructive comments / opinions. You also, no doubt, thought our Chairman was making a ridiculous boast 3 years ago when, bottom of league 1 with minus 10 points, he said we would be a Premiership side within 5 years. Btw, based on results since our new Manager arrived, we would be 6th in the Prem prior to the draw away to Swansea. Fact not a ridiculous boast.

Agree5 Disagree2

I'm deluded for say 8th and silverware? Birmingham won the capital one cup, Wigan are in the fa cup final, Bradford made the capital one cup final, Swansea only 3 points above saints won the capital one cup! As for 8th, why not we are 12th and had a really bad start to the season dropping silly points we fully deserved. Saints have got a great young squad which have aclimitesed to the premier league very well, we also have a chairmen with a lot of ambition who will give our manager a lot of funds! Saints will only improve next season! Saints are only six points behind 8th now! It's optimisum not delusion, look at the facts before you come onto another teams site and call the fans deluded for aiming at something that is not beound them! Probably just a bitter skate.

Agree6 Disagree1

On our current form of the last 20 games we would be in 8th place. Maybe not quite so deluded as you think.

Agree3 Disagree0

As long as we get another left back and sell Danny Donkey Fox i'll be happy.

Agree5 Disagree1

I'm so sorry for having an opinion, I forgot how delicate you lot were, not, lol, grow up, or more to the point, grow a pair, how old are you sg, 12, pretty sure the lge is based on 38 games, not the few since that foreign bloke arrived

Agree1 Disagree6

Yes there are 38 games in a season, and guess what that 'foreign bloke' will be manager for all 38 league games next season, which is the season we are talking about, making refrences to this seasons form under that 'foreign bloke' to show what saints are capable of under that 'foreign bloke' (by the way he is called Mauricio Pochettino). Now stop trying to come up with little digs such as how delicate we are because your comment about being deluded for "AIMING for 8th and HOPEFULLY getting some silverware" was proved to be wrong and deluded itself! Now go back to your own rumour site and see who you are signing on another month contract skate!

Agree3 Disagree1

This skate just isn't giving up lol bless him

Agree4 Disagree0

I really appreciate it when other fans come on here stating who they support and posting quite intelligent posts like the Celtic fan in the post below, he can see we play some sharp football, nice to watch (like every football pundit on every tv station everywhere!). This is the BEST time being a saints fan in my 23 years of living. We have a right to be optimistic, The futures bright, the futures red and white! :)

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm also fairly sure that over 34 out of the 38, with 4 to play, Southampton are in 12th and only 6 points behind 8th, next season we could well get 8th if we start playing as we have on average over the last 24 games when we finally adjusted to the league demands. 8th is a realistic target, not a guarantee, but realistic as a possibility none the less.

Agree3 Disagree0

Did you just puts 'not' joke in there? The lowest form of banter. As for 8th and silverware, Swansea did it in their second premier league season. I think we can expect to progress in the league over the coming seasons and have a very exciting cup run soon. {Ed025's Note - you are a decent side, and have done really well, but beware the 2nd season syndrome, you wont be the first side to do well first season, only to struggle the next year!, im not trying to rain on your parade, just warning you of the dangers of high expectations...im the everton editor by the way, and wish you well for next season..

Agree1 Disagree1

Cheers Ed! I think one of the reasons that a lot of Saints fans are getting a little carried away is due to Nicola Cortese. So far he has shown almost prophetic foresight in his decision making. Nicola has stated he wants to be challenging in the Premier league, and playing in Europe, therefore we will be! Whatever happens it's truly a great time to have been a Saints fan for those of us that were going to the games in Div 1 three years ago. Season 2 there will be teams that will change the way they play to stop us, and this will happen more and more, as we become more successful. I for one have faith in Nicola, and look forward to the great times ahead. {Ed025's Note - good luck to you mate..

Boruc has signed a 2 year extension. Happy days. I love his cockiness and his confidence must be great for our defenders.
