NA is looking to sign chris cohen from nottingham forest

Believable3 Unbelievable15

I seriously doubt it.

Agree12 Disagree3

Na dosn't sign players NC is the business side. NC will sign players that SFC needs. Not a man to do business with if you try and be clear. NC seems to have close contacts iN Italy, so it will be no surprise to saints fans if that where are CB comes from.
having met NC in switzerland a couple of years ago, I can say club is in very safe hands, COYR

Agree4 Disagree4

I agree but Adkins identifys the players he wants and then cortazi does the business sorry about the spelling {Ed013's Note - No need to apologise for spellings, this isn't a website that judges you mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed013 to be fair if he didn't apologise he'd get slated by certain smug fans on here...

And no to chris cohen, would like some european players who are cheaper and better, we've got enough English league talent in our ranks, get a bit of continental flair in. {Ed013's Note - We try and not post abuse mate, people can come on here and have their say. After all it isn't an English exam site}

Davide Astori looks set to become a saints player in the near future! The deal is 'extremely close'. So would expect that to be sorted within the next week. Butland deal is still alive despite Adkins comments yesterday. I imagine I'm going to get a lot of people clicking 'disagree' for this post, but we shall see ;)

Believable15 Unbelievable5

I disagree with your Butland claim. I mean he's not that good and if we were looking for a keeper we wouldn't buy another young one. Gazzaniga is our hope for our future in goal we would buy one we could rely on NOW.

Astori has been confirmed as a target but there is stiff competition. I do hope we pull it off and get him though. It is perfectly believable it could happen. Good luck Adkins and Cortese on that one. COYS!

Agree7 Disagree3

I knew someone would say that about Butland, I, not saying anything is concrete yet, but deal certainly is not dead

According to Italian press, fee has been agreed 10m euros, also agreed personal terms with the player. Watch this space!

Agree6 Disagree2

The Ramirez deal was "extremely close" about a month before it was finalised so I wouldn't hold your breath. Hope we get him tho and the sooner the better.

Agree5 Disagree4

The same source that reported Gaston's transfer a week before it was done is saying good things about Astori. apparently personal terms are done, just negotiating final fee package.

Agree6 Disagree2

Furthermore, I am now told Astori has been left out of cagliaris squad for their game tomorrow night.

Agree3 Disagree3

Astori is suspended, hence not being in the squad.

Agree4 Disagree2

I too am reading reports from Italy in the last few hours that personal terms between Astori and Saints have not been agreed to. Hopefully he'll be available for the Villa game at this rate.

The difference with the Ramirez deal was the third party issue with Penarol, and the fact that Saints wanted to pay in instalments...that's what dragged that deal out.

I have heard about the Butland deal although not from an official source my house mate is a Birmingham fan and has seen a lot of rumours and tweets about us having a big accepted from them.

Jos Hooiveld is being offered in part of a player + cash deal attempting to take the Centre back 'Douglas' from FC Twente. Douglas' contract apparently runs out at the end of this season and Hooiveld would mean Twente already had a replacement as well as receiving funds for other signings.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

Would be happy to do this swap, but we still need quality in other areas. But would be happy also is Jos stayed as he is good cover.

Agree4 Disagree3

Not heard anything but this sounds plausible! Makes a lot of sense for all parties!

Agree2 Disagree4

I struggle to believe this.

Lenny

Agree6 Disagree3

These "player + cash" deals are constantly rumored but hardly ever actually happen. This one sounds very unlikely to me.

Agree9 Disagree2

Seen him play live, a brilliant player.
just a little surprised he hasn't moved on from FC Twente already.
wages an issue?
would be a superb addition

Agree3 Disagree1

Well from a few people I know seemed to suggest Twente were interested in Hooiveld so requested that money be knocked off the fee and for them to sign Hooiveld from us as part of the deal instead of the pointless fee going one way then in part coming back the other.

Agree1 Disagree2

No he's not
