On my way home from work as I drive past st Mary's and I saw a bald player with there agent getting into a Mercedes I'm pretty sure it was jonjo shelvey, but this is not 100% true.

Possible loan move maybe? {Ed001's Note - he is away with the U21s.}

Believable0 Unbelievable14

"but this is not 100% true"

I'd agree on that. As Ed said. he's definitely away with U21s!

Also on another note. if we were to sign him, it wouldn't be loan IMO. Saints don't really loan players, unless w/ buy out clause.

Agree5 Disagree0

Lol what a fail

Agree3 Disagree0

It was probably Chaplow?

Agree8 Disagree1

Could of been naingnolin

Agree2 Disagree4

Well joshandress8, it does help when they have a sign around their necks stating "agent" and "player", doesn't it!LOL
There was certainly a lot of brain power utilised for that post.

I was outside st marys the other day in a merc, I was wearing a suit and my passenger was a youngish fella with an athletic build.
I pulled over to answer my phone and he got out to stretch his legs.

"OH MY WORD.!
Two people outside a football club.!!
One must be an agent and the other a player.!!
I must tell people right now.!!"

There are hundreds of people a day outside st marys, get real mate.

Agree7 Disagree1

Whats fail? the bloke said he saw someone with an agent getting out their car and was trying to guess who from their appearance, and even said he wasn't sure if it was.
Why don't you offer some suggestions kid, or perhaps your FM game has crashed and without it you don't have the footie knowledge to contribute right now. {Ed001's Note - or perhaps you should get off FM and ask yourself how he knew it was a player and an agent? Do agents and players have a particular look?}

Agree2 Disagree5

Sorry but I think the person struggling with "footie knowledge" is the one who doesn't understand that Shelvey is away with the U21s.

Either that or a basic lack of geographical knowledge thinking Southampton is in Israel.

Agree6 Disagree1

I don't understand how he knew one was a player and one was an agent. were they wearing massive signs saying their professions?

Agree3 Disagree0

Its a massive fail because if you're going to guess who it is you shouldn't guess a player that is known to be in Israel on international duty. FAIL

Agree3 Disagree0

This thread has gone on a bit hasn't it. Note "Rumors site" not official facts site.

Keep the rubbish coming, its better than work :)

Agree1 Disagree0

To the guy who said i'm a kid and plays FM actually i'm an adult and I don't play FM but i'm no stranger to a bit of fifa 13

Agree2 Disagree1

Chaplow with his agent, burnley close to signing him

Agree1 Disagree0

Considering shelvey was playing for the u21 in Israel on Monday, I very much don't believe it was him

"Southampton and Norwich City are the two clubs rumoured to be interested in Marcus Berg from Hamburg. The striker, a prolific goalscorer in his younger years, has recently suffered niggling injuries, but has recovered and is looking for a fresh start in the Premier League. Stoke City are also rumoured to be interested in bringing in the 26 year old. "

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Putting quotation marks around it doesn't make it any more correct.

Saints definitely not interested in him. He's been VERY average for Hamburg (5 goals in 43 apps is poor by anyones standards for a forward). And as you said he has an track record for injuries.

Saints have enough money to look for a bit more.

8 players have been released. They are:
Frazer Richardson, Danny Butterfield, Dan Seaborne, Ryan Dickson, Ben Reeves, Sam Hoskins, Tommy Forecast, Alberto

Believable15 Unbelievable1

No surprises really, thought Hoskins and Seidi were decent

Agree9 Disagree3

I that's the case, I wish them all the best for the future

Agree10 Disagree2

Please say Gully as well

Agree11 Disagree8

Guly's contract isn't out and don't be mean, he's not all that bad.

Agree8 Disagree10

Guly is an important member of the squad and can play in many posistions.

Agree7 Disagree11

Shame about Reaves and Hoskins thought they gad potential but thank god Tommy Forecast is gone

Agree13 Disagree1

Finally, Tommy Forecast has gone!

Lenny

Agree12 Disagree1

Gully as well (sarcasm)

Agree4 Disagree9

Whyd you say please guly aswell sorry but this year yes he can be lazy but he does when he makes an effort play some good football and sad to se seidi go thought he was a good player oh well guess shows the competiton

Agree5 Disagree5

Guly's a useless luxury we can't afford to have around, supposedly the new signings we are expecting to come in will take our club to the next level.
Guly couldn't compete at the level this season gone, if rumours are correct
he won't be able to live with what's coming in, get rid.

Agree5 Disagree2

The one thing that is obvious from that list is that two right backs have gone. Going to need cover in there.

Agree4 Disagree0

Thought Richardson and possibly Butterfield did well for the club in the championship and league 1. Reeves will be a good player for a league 1 team in the future. Also, hope seaborne finds club where he can play regularly like bournemouth

Southampton are hoping to sign Davide Astori within the next 10 days however no annocements from the club will be made until July 1st should the deal go through.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

That would be great news

Agree8 Disagree1

I've also heard a contract in principle has been agreed by parties involved.

Agree3 Disagree5

I've heard the same as well! COYRS

Agree4 Disagree2

We would of singed him in jan if we was. I hope it's true just can't see it any more

Agree5 Disagree2

Yh same would be great next to yoshida

Agree4 Disagree1

Astori is not good enough, and too rash to boot. You don't want a player who scores more own goals than jos and gets sent off too boot!

Agree1 Disagree6

Anybody not wanting Astori probably rarely watch Serie A.

He would be a tremendous upgrade and he´s missed 6 games in 3 seasons due to suspensions. not very much at all.

Agree6 Disagree0

Just read that him and his agent want his future set in the next 11 days due to the confediration cup* or something like that, so this makes this post even more believable for me. According to what it said, astori would like his future decided before the cup so he can concentrate on what's ahead. So hopefully he will sign or us, would be a brillaint signing for the club :D

Southampton are hoping to add Will Buckley and Celtics Gary Hooper to their squad, Hooper would rather join Sunderland though, also looking at Adrian Lopez from Athletico Madrid who they tried to sign in January. Lopez though wanted to join a much higher profile club.

Believable3 Unbelievable20

What a load of nonsense. Not interested in Hooper. Hooper was entirely media fabrication based on Adkins' having been his manager previously. Now Adkins has gone their is absolutely no substance left.

Will Buckley is not too likely to be on the list of players we want either, but I won't write off our interest there as a deal involving Dean Hammond is perfectly possible if we desired to drive down price.

As for Adrian Lopez, it's not a likely signing. But it's the sort Cortese would go for so let's hope he can work his magic. But the 'higher profile' argument seems lost actually because he's not first choice at Athletico Madrid so I can't see the 'top teams' really being in for him.

Agree10 Disagree3

Hooper can **** off

Agree12 Disagree1

Their are just the sort of players we will proberbly end up signing, after all the daft talk on here.

Agree3 Disagree3

I'm fairly sure Hooper will not be someone we will sign though. Just not an improvement on what we have.

Agree7 Disagree1

Hoopers not good enough

st stuie

Agree5 Disagree1

Hooper would be a great signing, a player who has scored goals in the Champions League and he has been linked to us today in the paper for an 7m deal, competition from Sunderland and Norwich

Agree1 Disagree5

Hooper would be an absolute waste. Yes he's scored in the Champions League, but that doesn't mean he can do it week in week out for Southampton to the level Rickie Lambert can. I think there are better options out there especially for 7million pounds!

Davide Astori has agreed to join Southampton (Sky Italia)

doubt it - no mention of bid / bid accepted! sounds like a false alarm tbh but Sky Italia do tend to get a lot of things correct! who knows

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Don't count your chickens seems the appropriate response to this. Won't believe it until the official saints has announced it.

Agree3 Disagree3

Can't see any link or find any proof of this. Hope its true though. Its the only realistic rumour around at the mo. Our biggest signing this summer will be Luke Shaw hopefully. Not comfortable with pre-contract agreements! Would love him to push forward to wing and bring in a left back.

Agree4 Disagree5

Shaw should not push forward onto the wing. Shaw is actually very good at his defensive duties and works relatively well as a driving forward support.

Agree13 Disagree0

Shaw should definitely stick to left back, he's great there and will only get better, plus we don't need another left winger

Agree9 Disagree2

I can't beliebe that you guys are telling Shaw to stay back, and not to go forward, but then in other posts bemoaning the lack of cutting edge in breaking down sides.

Hell if only they'd told Bale to stick to playing left back he might have been a world class left back by now.

Agree9 Disagree5

I'm not saying he shouldn't go forward and join in with the attack on the left side. But he is, unlike Bale, a very good defensive left back. Therefore he is actually best suited to playing as a full back and pushing forwards to support a winger than to actually be the winger himself.

Agree6 Disagree0

I just had a look on Sky Italia but I couldn't find it. Could you give me a link please. Google translates it from Italian to English.

Agree2 Disagree1

This is an article I found on Astori today

Southampton have tried to sign the 26-year-old centre-back in the last two transfer windows, but have kept up their pursuit in the belief that the Italy international wants to move to the Premier League.

Astori is set to report for duty with the Azzurri at the Confederations Cup later this month and would prefer his future to be cleared up before the start of the tournament in 11 days' time.

Cagliari are hoping that the widespread interest in Astori forces his price up above the £15m mark and believe that £10m could be a starting point for negotiations with two years left on his contract.

Spurs, Rubin Kazan, Roma, Napoli and Ac Milan also interested

Be quite a coup if we pull this one off and those teams actually are offering for him as well

Agree3 Disagree0

Shaw is a left back who can get forward and defend diffrence with bale was his set pieces llong ball eye for goal etc a lot better then shaw is going forward but defense wise shaw streaks ahead of what bale was

Agree6 Disagree0

Bale wasn't as good at getting forward as Shaw is at the same age. Personally I get a little more excited when he is running forward rather then making a defensive tackle. Bale made the transition to left wing about 2 years after we sold him. and whether or not Shaw is going to be a world class left back still doesn't mean he is potentially our best left wing at the moment.

Agree3 Disagree3

Bale was exceptional going forward for us and him and Rasiak pretty much got us 6th on their own but this was the in championship. Shaw looks good at both defending and attacking and is playing in the premiership where bale struggled for his first 2 seasons. He should without doubt play LB, maybe with the exception of us defending a lead or many injury's to LWers. But what does this say of Shaws potential? It says that he if he dose one day leave our club (which will hopefully be well into his 5 year deal) he will probably be the most expensive full back signing of all time.

Agree2 Disagree0

I used to love rsiak, he was my favourite player, I also remember marek saganowski

Agree5 Disagree1

Saganowski was utter crap compared to rasiak

Agree0 Disagree3

Saganowski was a beast! Just singing the name was fun Marek Sag Sag Saganowski

Agree1 Disagree0

Never forget the wolves game marek
