According to the express, man utd, arsenal and southampton are all tracking ever banega. I think that this could definitely happen for us. I don't see arsenal going for him as they already have an abundance of attacking midfielders and I don't personally see motes wanting to go for him as he might need to go for bigger names to try and please the fans. I think that in the January transfer window we will go back in for him and hopefully get him. What do you guys think?
After watching him a few times on TV not worth buying. Definately no better than what we have.
Where would he play? Schneiderlin, Wanyama and Ward-Prowse have locked down all the midfield slots for the next decade.
Attackers who are effective from the wide positions are the order of the day. That's not Banega.
Think he will replace ramirez in squad
Don't need him, may need another CB, a LB and a winger but that's it
Looking at how MoPo likes his team to line up we won't be getting any wingers any time soon, AMC's who can do a job on the wing is far more likely. I'd love to see Will Hughes come in though, have him on the left side of the 3 AMC's, JWP on the right with Lallana in the middle then with the likes of Ramirez (if he stays) J Rod (who can also play up top if needed) and even Guly as back up it would look quite interesting
So your saying to me you want to make the recent saints player to be called up to england and one of our shining stars this season (jay rod) back up.
Not exactly back up, probably worded it wrong, probably a rotation option and then filtering into a 1st team option once Rickie isn't performing as we know he can

Ok all good for jrod getting the call, but I don't think he has shown or produced the form he was in at the end of last season. Maybe this call will give him that cutting edge I feel he is lacking. With it though he could be one of our best players
Banega would be great for squad depth. Could sit central just infront of Morgan and Wanyama which would still allow a front 3 of Lallana, J-rod and Rickie?
I agree he isn't urgently needed but if we are going to last the distance and challenge for Europe eventually we need more options than just a good starting XI.
Ramirez is a waste of space and £12m at this point. Sell him and get someone like Banega in who you know will do a job.
