Saint. Top4? Naa. Got to ahead of your selves thinking top3 and manu arsenal and Liverpool will battle for 4th. Terrible

1.) 05 Apr 2015
@Derbygooner. I think that most true Saints fans were hoping for a top 7 position and maybe Europa cup qualification which could still be achieved but we need someone to start putting chances away. I think the Arse could get 2nd. You seem to be hitting top form at just the right time

Nothing wrong with at least trying to believe there's a chance to punch above your weight, even if, in reality, the top 4 will once again be the 4 richest clubs with the 4 biggest wage bills.

If people didn't delude themselves from time to time that there's some element of open competition in "the best league in the world" then why even bother watching?

But, you know, I'm sure Arsenal fans will rejoice again at paying the highest tickets prices in world football, having the most highly paid manager in world football and still only winning their customary 4th place trophy. What a great achievement.

Terrible!? Here's some stats for you Gooner to reflect on what a "bad" season we have had. Highest scoring home win of the season, currently the most clean sheets and least goals conceded for the season in the league. A manager who has won the manager of month award twice. Not forgetting some incredible results along the way. Drawing with Chelsea twice, beating Arsenal away in the Capital One Cup, and then beating them again at home in the league, as well as beating Manchester United at Old Trafford. One more win and we have already matched our highest recorded points total with games in hand. Which team has shown the most ambition Saints or Arsenal? And before you answer that take the rose-tinted glasses off.

Big questions for you guys this summer. I doubt alderweireld will sign.

Schniderlin is gone. Clyne will surely seek a move and wanyama will be looked at

I posted back in Feb and was just being honest but I got a few responses saying 3rd was yours crazy.

I agree that 3 out of the 4 players that you mention will probably move on this summer but you seem to forget that 5 top players moved last summer and we've done ok without them. I think that we'll already have a few names in the hat to replace those likely to leave so it's down to whether RoKo can get the right players in ready for next season. I for one am looking forward to next season already as I feel that we're on the way to establishing ourselves as a top 6/7 side. If you look at the amount of money that all the clubs in the top 8 have spent( apart from Saints) we have surprised an awful lot of people this year. Just hope that the board keep backing RoKo because we could spring a few more surprises next year too

It's all nice and cordial of you to tell us what problems we may face this summer so how about we return the favour.

How the heck, if Wenger stays, are you ever going to win the Premier League?

Likewise, how are you ever going to become a serious challenger in the Champions League knock-out stages?

At what point next season will the majority of your fans be complaining about Wenger, Giroud, Ozil, maybe even Sanchez if your team under-performs?

I agree SaintsFan29. Too many people trying to tell us how we should be running our club when they should be looking at the faults within their own club. Arsenal have underachieved for years. When you look at the money they've spent and the players they have at their disposal they should be winning at least one trophy a year and getting to champions league finals. We know that we have very little chance of doing that but we are happy because we get where we are without £ multi-million posers.

Shouldn't get your hopes any higher about Morgan mate-he will go to a club who he thinks stands a chance of WINNING the CL! (I suspect that may be Barca, not Barca very lite.)

Whilst we would have liked the bragging rites from achieving top 4, the realistic target was always the Europa League. This would allow the club to strengthen and extend the squad without spending silly money and have a good chance of being competitive. The club have already indicated they have looked at three scenarios for next season. I suspect the middle one is their preferred, and likely one.

Europa league is not a good thing. thursday sunday for some reason teams struggle

i love saints great club but players will move on. no shame in that.

People say that Everton's season was ruined by Europe. I think that their season was ruined because of average players. Barry and McCarthy not Brilliant. Miles behind Spider-Wanyama. Baines is too slow tracking back. Distin and Stones can both be all over the place. Barkley can loose games single-handedly by giving the ball away so much. Osman incredibly slow. Mirallas and Mcgeady very inconsistent.

Our squad i'd better than theirs and I can't see us struggling with europe next season given we keep goog players and strengthen in depth

And some teams struggle with CL!

Everton struggled to manage both Europa and EPL, Spurs didn't. Your "point" is very selective.

We will have some players that move on, but why would we be worried about that? If Morgan is one he will go for around £30m. We paid £1.5m for him. He has been a great servant to the club and I suspect his replacement would be the same.

RoKo has had almost a full season to assess the squad and he will know what he wants to do in the summer. I note in the media this morning they seem to forget he/Saints re-built the current squad in a few WEEKS. I see no logic to suppose there will be any difficulty strengthening our squad for next season.
