I think that RM has to go now. Not sure that we'll have many unemployed managers knocking at the door but something has to change and RM only knows 1 way to play and it doesn't work against premier league sides.

It’s turned toxic. He will be gone very quickly

I heard on the grapevine this morning that Ross Stewart probably won't be ready for first team action until December. Even if he comes in then and scores a shed load of goals I fear that it will be far too late to get us to the playoffs.

Lots of rumours abounded about him failing his medical . and then the comments slating those rumours …
Interesting

2.) 19 Sep 2023 08:31:21
If he had failed the medical then he would not be insured and Sunderland would not have accepted a deal with future add on payment’s, Saints would have to make full payment there and then. As I understand the FA rules, all players must be insured to play professional football in England.

Hopefully RM will get a call from Man Utd

teejaysaint

{Ed014's Note - there supposed to be in talks with Ruben Amorim from Sporting so maybe not

Stephens back in the team to face Man City today so we could lose by a cricket score

I've seen enough now. With RM in charge we have absolutely no chance of premier league football next season. Leave it any later and it doesn't matter who comes in will have very little chance of saving us. He has to go NOW

Totally agree. Need to play to our strengths and that’s not playing like we are Man City.

Lallana is back on a 1 year contract. Not sure that I see any value in him returning

I do see value as an experienced leader in the dressing room, to steady the ship in the last 20 mins, as a local lad who might be up for the fight and as a spanish speaking mentor for Alcaraz (if he returns)

On a free transfer, worth a punt, especially as Stu is gone. Frees up funds to invest in a GK, ST, DM and LB/RB. Will give it a shot and see.

2.) 14 Jun 2024 23:37:07
Maybe, just maybe there’s another chapter to be written.

Personally, I think he will prove to be an asset although more so in the changing room with a few cameo appearances.

That said, we will need more armament in midfield not to mention in goal.

Actually, I think he’s an ok keeper - just saying!

3.) 15 Jun 2024 07:42:29
Agreed.

I don't mind the odd over 32, under 22, foreign league punt but let's get solid players in at GK, LB/RB, DM, RM/LM and ST as a priority. Not risks like Bazunu and Onuachu.

Shocking stat, of the 15 paid SR signings, only 1 played in the playoff final (Aribo) and that was because Stu was injured.

80% of paid signings were not quality starters in the PL or Championship. Though THB, Downes and Fraser were smart business as loans - more signings like these please.

Yet again too wasteful in front of goal. 62% possession and 13 shots but only 5 on target.

If you're really curious as to what Saints need to stay up I think we can say an absolute miracle

Could be looking at player valuation ahead of possible relegation. I think a few of our squad will be looking to move if we go down.

The board obviously don't care about the fans/ supporters. How can they not see that unless we bring in someone who can put the ball in the net we are destined for championship football next season.

Best thing to happen today is captain Jack getting himself sent off. At least we'll not have him in the team for the next 3 games

My heart says that I would love to see it happen but my head says no way would Poch come back. He's tasted bigger and better things over the last few years. One of the top clubs will snap him up.

Why oh why do we keep going for clueless managers. We always seem to go for the cheapest option. We need a manager who knows how to win leagues/ cups etc. Yes it will cost the club more money but we would possibly still be in the Premier league had we invested in someone with knowhow after Ralph. Paying big money for an injured striker who's only played about 20 minutes in a Saints shirt and unlikely to be fit enough to play before February is ok as far as the board are concerned but forking out for a decent manager with a good track record is out of the question? I agree with south_hants_rich this manager is taking us backwards.
