Now that’s a team!
But somehow I think (and I have no idea why) he will stick with Diallo and Ely .
But your team is superb and exciting

Great team choice except for Perraud - his crossing has been erratic and he was poor last weekend.

Who would have thought Ralph would have outlasted Tuchell - funny old game!

KWP has just confirmed what most of us knew regarding Saints sudden improvement concerning the arrival of no.1 Coach Ruben SELLES.

Hi Johnnyst,

The tributes to her late Majesty the Queen have been overwhelming, the world over. I’m sure you must be caught up in the moment all those thousands of miles away.

With the football postponed yesterday I swapped Brentford at home for Buckingham Palace just to soak up some of the atmosphere. The crowds were amazing and whilst there was a huge sense of loss, there was also an enormous feeling of pride.

I reflected on that glorious day, May 1st 1976 when our Queen handed over the FA Cup to Peter Rodrigues. I believe I’m right in saying that was the last time she performed that duty - another little gem in the history of our club.

Best wishes

Hey Millertime many thanks for your good wishes .Having mentioned the1976 Cup Final, interestingly enough it reminded me of a couple of occasions I happen to be in Peter Rodrigues company at sporting events when I asked him what was the Manager’s directive on Players curfews etc.the night before the Final.Peter told me that (the ever shrewd)Lawrie McMenemy told him “you have done this all before Peter with Leicester City —leave it to you to recommend which resulted in no strict curfews and a relaxed evening with only two Players a little late to bed!

Haha, let me guess Osgood and McCalliog?!

Great memories and how the game has changed - Peter Rodrigues and his like didn’t live in bubbles then and were more far more in touch with the ‘ordinary person in the street’. A more honest game back then dare I say.

Keep well

@ Millertime. You are correct. 1976 was the last time the Queen handed the FA cup over. Happy to say that I was there. One of the best days of my life.

Hi Teejaysaint - thank you for confirming.

Yes, I was there too ….

“McCalliog finds Stokes… Stokes hits it …… Stokes has scored for Southampton “!

I think I got slightly worse for wear on my first underage pint of lager and black!

And then of course the next day the fans took over the city!

That’s why I would never ever support playing a weakened side in an FA cup tie!

Good guess Millertime-Ossie was one and if my memory serves (it seems many moons ago) the other was a certain young man (who loved his horses)!
