Evening all. Having read this site for two years and not contributed once. I now see a sea change in attitude. In the past the talk has mainly been who we will look at / buy / scout but now even we are talking of who will go! I can't help but think this negative attitude fosters disappointment. So my point is believe we will keep our proven talent, and that more will come through. We will splash the cash wisely on decent talent and if he stays we get behind Osvaldo, the guy obviously wants to be loved, so help and trust him and he will pay us back.

1.) Totally agree. It's bad enough with the media vomiting lies onto the back pages, but could do without our own fans swallowing these lies and assuming the worst.

If Miss Liebherr was in no way interested in the club, she would sell it now, when we are in a strong position. If she wants to sell all the clubs assets, then we have to assume that she would also relish dancing on her fathers grave while she does it.
The fact that she is showing interest in the club suggests she does want to honour her fathers wishes for the club. Perhaps, she may show less passion and invest less money than he did. That's fair enough and her choice. We have to accept that.
I think we may sell a player or two this summer, but because they are angling for a move not because the club want to sell.
Looking forward to a great summer of football, POSITIVE rumours about transfers. Oh! And a certain former beetroot factory worker scoring the winning goal in the final, thanks to some searing pace down the left wing (from a young left back) and a clever flick from the English Iniesta.

2.) The question is, will the club be asset stripped with the best players moved on, then the club sold to American or middle east owners, let's face it they saved the club they are business people the club was a bargain buy and they have put it back to a good place, like was said players and owners come and go, it's ripe for selling.

3.) If they wanted to sell they wouldn't asset-strip first, that would devalue the club too much. I know Saints are a pretty cool club, but really you should go on the page of the team you support

4.) Asset stripping BEFORE a sale is utterly redundant. If you are going to asset strip a company you do it for the intention of liquidation. So if you were going to strip a company of it's assets you wouldn't do it before a sale. You might do it after a purchase in order to make an immediate profit, or you might do it to cut your losses before liquidation. Honestly the amount of people here who like to comment about finance and economics without knowing the first thing about it is ridiculous.

5.) Sell a couple of players for 60 million would get back what the owners have spent, sell the club for 150 million looks good business, I do hope it doesn't happen but without huge investment this season could be our best ever. Poch has got other plans it's not rocket science to see it.

{Ed007's Note - In future will you please log-in before posting.}

6.) Just makes you wonder why cortese left he had great plans for the future, that alone shows the club has other plans, to his credit though very close to cortese poch has remained at the club. Trouble would be if poch left all his back room staff will go with hin. A well life goes on.

7.) I must we had many rumours how ruthless cortese was but give the guy credit his vision and know how has got the club in a fine situation, I just don't want our club to be a 2 season wonder. although we all hoped the club has done so well perhaps punching above its weight it will be a great shame if all expected turmoil end up happening.

8.) Nameless poster nonsense, seems commonplace since the site started requesting people to register. No point believing anything until it's announced on the OS, particularly this summer.

If we believe what the papers say we won't have a team next season! Obviously this hounding by the media is irritating, but the publicity the club is getting as a result of it all is something to be celebrated. We're quickly becoming the neutral's most popular club because of our youth policy and style of football. As a business it would be a huge mistake if the Saints board were to disrupt that, and that is why we have nothing to worry about. We have very sensible heads leading the club into the next five year plan.
